LinustheBold: I'm in for Mark of the Ninja: Special Edition, and thank you. There's a really nice feel to these GAs you are hosting, and I like the push to discussion.
As you know, some in the community seem to have a negative opinion of those who regularly enter giveaways. And some of it is for a good reason when all you ever see is two words, "I'm in". I guess I'm doing my small part in showing the giveaway community can contribute too. A lot of those posting here do participate regularly in non-giveaway threads and to the rest, I'm showing how easy it would be to participate in the "ordinary" threads and I encourage you to expand your horizons.

I've only hosted one giveaway so far, which is a little silly since I have a small but plucky stack of games I bought on the various sales specifically to give away, so I should probably get on that. But when I did my one, I invited people to tell stories, and well over half of them did. It was great reading, and it sounded like some of them enjoyed the chance to participate.

Once in a while I'll do an "I'm in" as well, but I prefer to elaborate when there is time. So I'm with you on the whole topic.
Not in, but thanks for the generous GA!

GOG is like a secluded grassy field in a dark forest, not everyone sees it (or should see it), and everyone in it does not want to leave it. The only gaming community where we can actually discuss games, or anything else.

I'm in for Megarace 1+2 thanks.

I think GOG's great because when you have a game installed and you want to play it, it usually takes only about 0.3 seconds for the game to load. Well, maybe a little more than that, but not much. Seriously: just take a look how long Heroes IV, for example, takes to load. It's nearly instant since the intro screen is entirely skippable and there's no extra hassle.

What I'm saying, is that when you want to play a game, first you don't need a mandatory client update. You don't then need to see a mandatory advertisement for some game that's on sale. You don't then need a mandatory who-know-what-Windows-is-doing-now -install when you push play, even if you had the game already installed. And after you've finished playing the game, you don't need yet another mandatory advertisement.
Not in, but thanks for doing this, what a super effort@!
Time for a bump, but this let's me say a little more about GoG. Most everyone came for the same reason, the classic games.

What I wish to expound on more is the people. We all have this common love for games and heck, it seems we all love sales as well. I just couldn't believe the helpfulness and camaraderie. People would miss games, and someone would often have their back and it isn't always just for the forum regulars. I remember the Time Machine sale, I got home from work and was disappointed that I had missed Zork. Posted something about hoping it comes back around and I get a message from Foxworks with a code for it. I could not convince him to take another code later in the sale in return. It's the times of the big sales when we get new GoGers joining our forums and both new and old join together seeing what comes up next that our forums really shine.

Then you also have the coolest moderators I've ever seen like Judas. He clearly loves games himself (think he said he was a Goger before he was hired). And he displays this in his occasional posts in the unofficial threads.

It's just a great community here!

RWarehall: It's just a great community here!
I couldn't agree with you more RWarehall, yes all the games are DRM Free and yes the classics are optimized to run on modern systems but the one constant that makes this the only online forum I am active on is the people. I have had the pleasure of interacting with many wonderful people here from all around the globe. This community also floored me with the genuine care for their fellow members during sales as you highlighted. I first witnessed the amazing generosity during the first fall insomnia promo where a lot of missed games by members were gifted to them. I had never seen anything like it before and it was just a truly amazing gesture by folks like IAmSinistar and foxworks among many others.

Another great thing here is that people are really open about sharing who they are with everyone in the community, not shying away from talking about personal issues. Everyone is comfortable because they know that the rest of the folks will show compassion and understanding towards them. All in all the people of the community for me is the best thing about GOG even though there are disagreements sometimes, it never significantly impacts the overall positive spirit of the genuinely good folks here. :)

Thanks a lot and +rep for doing these amazing giveaways RWarehall, the efforts you put in to encourage participation in the weekly topics of discussion is really appreciated. I would also like to take this opportunity to test my luck as well and be in for the following:

Tier#2
Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis

Closing tomorrow, last chance folks!
Thanks for the giveaway. Not in

There are lots of positives about GoG. I came because of the classic games, I have very fond memories of games like Dungeon Keeper and Pharoah and when I got the chance to buy them (cheaply) in a format that would install and run without issues on a modern computer I was delighted. I've since found there sales are an awesome game to get retro games and modern classics at great prices.

And to top it all off there is a wonderful and helpful community who are more than willing to share there time, wisdom, expertise, and even wealth (in the form of giveaways) on a variety of topics.

In short, GoG is awesome.
The Giveaway is now closed.
