It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Anyone else having this issue? I'm out of town and used a family member's computer to check the GoG weekend sales and see if anything was worth buying. Every time I click on the Game Catalogue section, it takes forever to load, or even outright freezes, and occasionally finally does load and give me an Explorer error message saying that "A script is running slow and could cause your computer to become unresponsive. Stop running the script?" or something to that effect. Is this just an issue with GoG running on Internet Explorer or something? I wouldn't know how GoG runs on IE, don't use it at home. The issue is also confined just to the Game Catalogue page, everywhere else on GoG works fine.

Edit:

Okay, this is the exact wording of the message:

"Stop running this script?

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive."

Once that pops up though the catalogue runs fine. It just takes a while to load and I keep getting that message.

outdated IE or java perhaps, also if the system is filled with malware and other crap it might cause this, dunno but those would be first choice on my list to check

Other oddity I just noticed: It is only the "All Genres" tab that this happens with. The other tabs all load quickly and work without issue.
hmm what specs does the computer have, could be it just doesn't have enough resources with whole catalog but honestly i think its something else since every modern computer ought to be powerful enough to run the site without problems...
Okay, I think I found the issue. Their version of IE is outdated. Like, two versions outdated. I won't download the newest version since it isn't my PC, but I'll let them know. Maybe you're right and that the full game catalogue, combined with the outdated version of IE, is just causing problems. Only thing I can think of since the smaller game catalogue lists broken down by genre work just fine.

I was just curious if this was a known issue or something and other people were having issues with GoG.

Apparently GOG has been changing some of their back-end stuff - some people have reported loosing their whole bought game shelf only to log out and back in and everything is fine. So it's possible it is also that which is affecting your friend's version of IE.
I had that happen back in June, with an old computer I was messing around with at work. It happened every time with that computer. Every browser on that machine was old.

I just figured it was because of the age of the software/hardware.
Same for me, some time ago. Nothing serious, I just deleted the browsing history and cookies and it worked fine.
