EBToriginal: And the original Origin that would unregister your keys if you didn't play them for two years.

djmiketjg: That was in Origin's original user agreement and pertained to accounts, not keys. Even then, they removed it long before Origin got to 2 years old.
Really? I am looking at the original EULA right now and it says both entitlements (games) and accounts could expire. Of course they fixed that long before two years because it was a PR disaster.

P1na: I've now been able to add to my cart again. It seem I can buy for myself, which adds it to my library and let me play in Europe; but I can't gift to my friends.
Than it's activation lock and it's best lock of all, because others either force you to use one language, or lock your ability to play only when you at certain region.

djmiketjg: As an aside, the area I do feel for in this is Australia - something very funny going on with pricing over there and it doesn't seem fair considering. Still, I guess you could just VPN them from somewhere else instead - just not Russia.

Pheace: Is Australia even hit by this measure? People from high priced regions (US and up) still seem to be able to trade/gift their stuff. Well, EU and US, I imagine AU as well?
I gifted and received gifts from someone in the US today. I'd be curious to test this with games that have ridiculous regional pricing (2k games and Rockstar are a couple of companies that spring to mind).
