It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Has any of you gone through this? Shortly after updating Steam, I can no longer see the store page, the news page or the community one. I get an error telling me the server is offline or I may be offline. Since I'm posting here and Captain Fitz could answer my chat and I can still play my games (the library page is the only one working fine) so I take it the error is... erring.

Here's a pic of what I can see.

I've already restarted my computer and I'm on XP. Don't really think it's cause for alarm and I figure it'll sort itself out eventually, but if any of you has had this happen to you, let me know. I want the thing working for the Christmas sale.

Thanks in advance!

If you're not using Internet Explorer as your default explorer, you should check if it's in offline mode. This has happened to me a few times, and every time IE had been (for unknown reason) in offline mode. Might've been some other program setting it so, but most likely Steam since everytime this happened to me I had just updated Steam.

That's odd. I'm indeed using another browser as my default one but IE was in online mode when I checked it and the problem is still there.
I've seen that happen once or twice myself, it seemed to be a serverside problem that was resolved the next day, probably the same thing here. Actually I just checked and I'm getting an error too, but its a different one

You could always use the web version of the store through your browser rather than through the steam one.

Ok, that's reassuring. Fitz could see his store page fine, so i figured it was a problem at my end.

Thanks! +1 to you both for whatever is worth.
Servers down for maintaince will be back soon hopefully
