Navagon: Hell, I bet Interplay will be up next. Now that really will be groan-worthy.

SLP2000: I really hope so. This, and Ubisoft.

I wasn't around when there were Interplay/Ubisoft promo sales.
Exactly my position. We semi-oldies have the shortest end of the stick; there are quite a few Interplay titles I'd grab in an instant.

Navagon: Well, for us oldies, that's the problem. A lot of the sales are now aimed at newbies. Which means a lot of repeat sales for us. Hell, I bet Interplay will be up next. Now that really will be groan-worthy.
I'd argue that there isn't a sale that can please more than a handful of us oldies, unless it's a sale of the complete catalogue. Most of us already have most of the games we're interested in so either the sales are full of games we wouldn't buy anyway, or we already have them. I'm not really bothered though.

The release schedule is so slow at the moment that that's pretty much exactly the way it is.

That said, there are still a good few games I'm interested in that I haven't bought; either because of my backlog or simply because it's not attractive enough at its price point.

Well, last week sale was really great, I think none of Atari games were on sale before. But that was just an exception.

Miaghstir: Even though the same promo was run a few months ago, the many new users didn't get to see it that time. I already have 4 of the games, and I don't have enough interest in the rest to buy them at the moment so I'd rather have another promo. On the other hand, that's $25 I can save for another time.

Exactly. Still a nice sale for those who haven't picked up the Rebellion stuff yet, but it's a definite 'Been there, done that.' sort of deal for me as well.
Dunno how varied they can get with the promos. The catalog is relatively finite and the games are already at a fairly low price point. At the very least there's usually a large list of titles to choose from each week. Honestly I only have about half a dozen games on GoG with maybe three or four on my current 'to buy' list.

And, yeah, if you're one of these folks that own half or more of the current catalog... what can they do?
