I'll be looking for a comment/review of some kind. I have no time to try out the demo just now, but if it's that good I'll throw down for it and play it later.

Well, right off the bat, the complete lack of any kind tutorial makes it very hard to play. The interface is not intuitive at all to the point where I couldn't even figure out how to steer my ship or fire weapons. I had to spend quite a little while RTFM, hopefully when I go back to it I will have a better experience.

I note that this is on sale on Amazon this week, along with some other Iceberg Interactive titles, are these good? Starpoint Gemeni is back up to full price, the rest are still 4-6 USD or so.
I just bought this the other day on Steam where it's being sold for much cheaper. It's regular price is $24.99 but it's currently being sold at -15% off for $21.24.

I haven't played the game yet so I can't say how good it is but I like both role-playing games and space simulators so, hopefully, it will be an enjoyable experience.

Well, if the 3 bucks makes a difference to you, then yeah, that's a hair cheaper. To me saving 3 bucks on a 25 dollar game isn't going to make me switch from buying from a store I do like to one I don't. Too bad the cheap keys ran out (was like 7 bucks earlier in the week).

Actually, it wasn't a 3-dollar difference but about a 9-dollar difference. The other place was selling the game for the full $30 whereas Steam, where I bought it, was selling it for $21. That's quite a large difference to me. I don't really care where a person gets their game from, I'm just mentioning it because Steam is the main digital distributor. I'm not a big proponent of Steam, there's a lot of things I don't like about them, the chief being that you can lose your entire library of games (which you don't have full ownership over) and the lesser being that the platform itself is a form of (limited) DRM. That said, they're the major digital distributor and there are positives to their service (e.g. achievements, ease of finding/joining multiplayer games, cloud service, and the winter/summer promotions).

Also, it seems that GamersGate noticed the Steam sale because they just lowered their price from $29.95 to $19.95.

Oh I see, yeah, it was 24.99 USD on Amazon.com which was the price I was referring to. They had a 7.99-ish sale earlier in the week, but that must be their newest release because it went back up almost immediately. All that stuff went off sale at midnight last night, though, so it's moot for Amazon.com now, though it sounds like there's some sales elsewhere.
And now its back with awesome SPG2 ;)

Thanks for necro-ing this..I had forgotten all about it. Hoping this comes to GOG, as I prefer not to use GG these days, or Steam. SPG2 is looking like it might be a really decent Space game

Np, cose the game is a much bigger and much wiser brother of the original SPG

With a nice modding community ;)
