anyone know how to install the game with dosbox i keep getting disk speed error during the hardware check.

try to change this in your dosbox.conf ...

by the way - is there any chance that this game will come to gog.com in the near future? :-)

the issue with classic star trek games is not the Devs but CBS who owns the series rights and pulled them from the developer of the game. it's the same reason racing games were pulled from the site the people who made the game no longer have the ability to put the title out and cbs may not plan on signing off on a re issue when a new dev has the game rights right now.
