It's Nicolas name day today and it's a perfect occasion to make a giveaway to the very awesome GOG community. The rules are very simple: all you need to do, to get a chance to win a GOG game of your choice, is to post in this thread the title of the game you'd like to get and explain how it would change your life. Here are some examples:

- A copy of Fallout 2 would teach me the skills I need to feed a village of starving children.
- I am currently afflicted with a fatal case of Fronk's Fever. The only cure is a transfusion of One Unit of Blood!
- There has been an alien invasion in my hometown, but I lack the skills required to survive the assault. A copy of Alien Shooter would surely get me trained up and able to save the world!

Your reason why you want to get the game won't be judged as out of all entries we'll randomly pick 5 winners - we just want to have some fun while reading your entries :). We're accepting entries until Tuesday, December 7 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

UPDATE: Here are the winners and their games:

TrIp13G - Aquanox
carmen510 - Capitalism 2
kirkthill - Baldur's Gate 2
amcdermo - Gobliiins Pack
DelusionsBeta - One Unit Whole Blood

Congratulations to the winners, expect the gift certificates for your games in your mailbox shortly and thank you to all participants!

This is our sixth surprise in GOG.com's Holiday Celebrations. Don't know what we're talking about? For the first two weeks of December, we're going to reveal a little something for you once a day, until December 14 when we reveal the BIG surprise!

Want more? Check back tomorrow for another GOG holiday surprise!

Whitecroc: What were the "winning" entries? Don't feel like searching through 101 pages...
avatar
Shadowcat: There's no point in quoting the winners' posts; the draw was random. Aside from indicating the game they wanted, what the person wrote was completely irrelevant, other than for the purposes of entertaining everyone reading the thread.
I know that; hence the quotes around winning.
Gratz to all the winners

Well, I figured that at first, and then I couldn't work out why you wanted to see them -- given the selection criteria, they're unlikely to be any more worth reading than any other entry that you've seen.

carmen510: A copy of Capitalism 2 would teach me all the skills I would need to get America out of the recession and give free Good Old Games to all.

kirkthill - Baldur's Gate 2

kirkthill: I need Baldur's Gate 2 because as a poor med student I need a game that will last me the next four years of school!

amcdermo - Gobliiins Pack

amcdermo: I can hear them in the walls! Everytime I try to sleep they scratch and chatter and solve rudimentary puzzles. I caught a glimpse of them once; a small orange hand that was gone in an instant. I'm losing my mind now and I don't know what to do. The Gobiiins Pack might help end this nightmare.

Gratz to the winners!
[end quote of Krisk7, but it isn't working right]

o.O . . . do you have a) an amazing memory, b) a lot of free time, or c) a clever method for finding those quickly?

Nice work!

(Edit: the quoting format got all screwed up, trying to fix it . . .)

Thanks for sorting it out, man!
Congrats to all the winners! Enjoy your free games...

And have a very Merry Christmas!
A copy of "Tom Clancy's: Rainbow Six" Would teach me, with my uber-short attention span, how to carefully plot complex strategies, equip my varied servicemen with...Hey wait, isn't Hell's Kitchen on?

Lol...I figured it was clever enough and worth a shot anyways. Maybe they got into the Christmas Spirits and would be generous.

See?! This simply PROVES how horrible his attention span is... He should be considered, I say!
