Kalfear: ~snip~
It sounds like you kind of misunderstood my post. I didn't mean to criticize the games for being pixelated and I'm not after the most modern graphics myself (personally I can't even run The Witcher 1 on my rig and I love me some pixelated 90's games, I just prefer VGA to EGA). Of course the Gold Box games all use the same engine, just like the Infinity engine games use the same engine, but there's quite a difference between BG and IWD2, and there's also quite a difference between Pool of Radiance and Unlimited Adventures. You also said it yourself by mentioning that the PoR version of the engine is EGA only. Anyway, I didn't say the old Goldbox games were bad, I just said that I fear they might not appeal to me personally now, with me not having played them back in the days, not liking an overabundance of combat without good flavor text and preferring VGA pixel art to the very dated EGA graphics. I much prefer to play the community modules for hacked UA, but it's purely a personal preference, not a criticism of the Goldbox games' release quality. I support your wish for them to apear here, even though I'm not sure whether I would buy them myself.
They definitely would be hard to get into for someone that's never played them or is unfamiliar with AD&D or those types of worlds they made the games in.

The combat parts can take hours!
