Tex expects that 50% off affects your availability to detect suspects!

This week, in a move so bold and surprising that only a P.I. from 2033 could pull it off, all games from Tex Murphy series are 50% off until this Friday, June 1 6:59 AM EDT. Why is that? Well, Aaron Connors and Chris Jones have launched a Kickstarter to resurrect our favorite futuristic gumshoe, and we thought that this was a fine time to bring the project to your attention.

Tex Murphy is a Private Investigator working in a post-WWIII New San Francisco, always surrounded by beautiful women and conspiracies aimed at world destruction. The series, which consisted of five games, became famous for the challenging puzzles, witty humor, romance, and FMV sequences with some great acting from well-known actors like Tanya Roberts, Margot Kidder, Barry Corbin, and Michael York. This week, you can explore, interrogate, watch and interactive movie, fight, and more in Tex Murphy 1+2 for only $2.99, or Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon, Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive, and Tex Murphy: Overseer for only $4.99 each.

If you check out “Tex Murphy - Project Fedora”-- the aforementioned Kickstarter campaign--you’ll see that this incredible series doesn’t have to end yet. Help Tex come back in a brand new detective adventure in a fully 3D world where you search for clues, solve puzzles, investigate crimes, and question witnesses and suspects, naturally with integrated FMV scenes, and backing the project at different levels will net you free copies of the original games from GOG.com!

jussip: How many percent does the developer get from selling price?
(Edit: Just consider my post the complement to nulian's, referring to the Kickstarter project.)

Strictly speaking, Project Fedora isn't for sale yet, although individuals who pledge at least $15 to fund the project will also receive a copy of the finished game at no cost.

Kickstarter charges 5% of the funds raised for a project which successfully meets its goal. Amazon charges another ~3% credit card fee. UPDATE: Chris and Aaron have just pledged to return 5% of any profit from the completed game to other Kickstarter projects, per the "Kicking it Forward" program.

Other than that, Big Finish Games has their own overhead and costs of development, but the remaining money goes directly to them.

ne_zav, what are you referring to? I need the GOG versions of these games.
The Tex Murphy series is one of the best adventure games series ever. They are not just a cool movie, they are actually adventures with good plots, awesome puzzles and you even have lot´s of exploration to do.
Don´t let the FMV part scare you. This has good FMV in it but it is also an excelente game in its own right.
Shit. Arse. Fuck. Bollocks.

I miss read this news and though I had till June 2nd. Had them all in my basket, along with the Blackwell adventure games with the intention of buying them today after I'd been paid.

Sorry to hear that, though Kind of glad I'm not the only one.
Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Figured I had until Friday night to buy these. Oh well. What a shamus.
Damn! Thought I bought this during the campaign, but must have somehow forgot! Just came to play it, and found it wasn't in my list... Bah!
