GOG.com and Interplay Level up!

GOG.com has been in talks with our good friends at Interplay, and we’re pleased to be able to say that we have good news! Not only are we adding four classic games from their catalog to GOG.com in the near future, but we’re also going to give you another chance to [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/interplay_price_change_promo_09_11_12]save big on the games we already have for the next week!

Every silver lining has a cloud, though, and the reason that we’re putting the games on sale again is because we’re raising the prices on some of the Interplay games on the 16th of November as part of our new deal with Interplay. As such, games such as Fallout, MDK, Redneck Rampage and others may never be as cheap on GOG.com as they will be this next week. If you’ve been hesitating to pull the trigger on any classic Interplay games, now’s your last chance to buy and save big!

What are the new games that we’re adding to the Interplay collection? Well, if you know GOG.com, you know what we don’t like to give away that kind of news early, but if you’re paying attention on our website--or on any of our social media channels like , [url=http://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook, , [url=http://www.youtube.com/gogcom]Google+ or even just your email inbox, you’ll be sure to find out.

So pick up our last huzzay of Interplay games at $2.99 this week, and let us know in the comments below what classic Interplay games you’re hoping will show up on GOG.com early next year--or perhaps even sooner!
I grabbed the last of the Interplay games except the Fallout games. And yes I grabbed Sacrifice. As an RTS fan I figured I'd give it a go. The MDK games intrique me as well.

So happy I got three more FPSs mainly. I've been feeling the need to blow something up.
Black Dahlia would be a nice addition. Would love to see the Star Trek games here, but probably unlikely.
Kicking myself for not buying Descent 1 & 2 and Descent 3 expansion. Forgot the sale ended this morning.

I hope that GOG can release Star Trek: 25th Anniversary & Star Trek: Judgment Rites I've been desperate to play these games again (talkie versions please) but I suspect the likelyhood of them happening is slim due to the Trek license (who has that these days? Activison?)
List of the Interplay titles that got mor expensive:

Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout Tactics
Freespace 2
Descent 1+2
Sacrifice
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Descent 3 + Expansion
Earthworm Jim 1+2
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Messiah
F/A-18E Super Hornet

Funny that Redneck Rampage and MDK stayed at $5.99 as they were mentioned in the news article.
Lol the two games I don't have Freespace 2 and Earthworm Jim 1+2 went up in price :(

I'm shocked MDK didn't go up
WTF!?!? They raised the price for Sacrifice ! Shit !

Licurg: WTF!?!? They raised the price for Sacrifice ! Shit !
They raised the price of Sacrifice to make sure nobody else buys it

Gonchi: Black Dahlia would be a nice addition.
Definitely. It's owned by 2K though, is it not?

Yes, they must've done it on purpose to spite me... YOU BASTARDS !!!
They raised prices for almost everything of any worth. Interplay is going down, it's confirmed.
I'm surprised that Freespace 1 is still at $5.99 and F-18 went up. Except for this - pretty much what I've expected.
All in all - with this uncertainty about Interplay's future if I'll be interested in those 4 new games GOG is going to release - I guess I'll buy them at the release date.

In comparison to dotemu the prices of MDK 2, Earthworm Jim 3D and VR Soccer are still low, everything else is fitted. Super Hornet and FreeSpace 2 are not on dotemu and the Descent and Earthworm Jim games are sold separated.

Edit: Like tburger I'm mostly surprised about Super Hornet, because regarding the subforum it has big problems with Windows 7 and isn't in my a relative new or popular game. Maybe they believe it's not a game bought by the masses and so they can get a little extra cash from the flightsim-geeks.

and the price of VR Soccer 96 was raised to a brainmelting 10 Euro on DotEmu

I bet whoever did this right now is laughing his ass off

My guess is that they maybe believe that dotemu as a french company and with multilingual language support attracts more european then gog with 50% sales from north america. As we know europeans love football (soccer), so maybe we can try a higher price and get more cash ;-)

Nah, not really. I really can't see a logical reason for a higher price on dotemu, maybe interplay really just wanted to try to see how different price points will work on sales and used dotemu as test ground.

Ah... I have no idea... Someone mentioned it in a long list and it was one of the games I recognized. Not really the kind of Adventure game I generally play, and with a bit of a downer ending, but I'd pick it up if GOG got it.
