You may have noticed that we didn’t have our usual Gaming Gem Promo on the first Wednesday of the month. We never, however, forget the promos we promise and with today’s [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/alan_wake_series_gem_promo/]Special Double Gem Promo we’re making sure there’s plenty of gaming goodness to keep you occupied all summer long.

Alan Wake is a third-person shooter with a chilling “film noir” atmosphere, similar in style to The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, and Stephen King novels. Alan Wake is a perfect Gaming Gem--it offers intense action, masterful storytelling, great gameplay, unique ideas, and a huge discount! Today only on GOG.com, you can get Alan Wake for half-price or even as cheap as $10.19 when purchased with Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (or if you already own American Nightmare on GOG.com).

Alan Wake's American Nightmare takes the mystery writer Alan Wake to a completely new setting: Night Falls, Arizona--a classic American Route 66-type of location, but on a borderline between reality and fiction. The game is more action-oriented than the original and offers a brand new “Fight till Dawn” arcade mode. Get Alan Wake's American Nightmare 50% off or for only $5.09 when purchased with Alan Wake (or if you already own Alan Wake on GOG.com).

Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, titles sure to electrify fans of exciting thrillers and sublime story-telling, are available for 66% off for the next 24 hours. Both games can be purchased for $15.28 until Thursday, July 12 at 6:59 EDT.

grviper: ...Anal's American Nightmare...
I don't think I'd want to watch or play that. Sounds kind of painful. =P
high rated

Fred_DM: if only GOG would also provide (optional!) Steam keys for their games, where applicable, it would be a nobrainer.
I would prefer to see Steam offer optional GOG keys instead.

I think I'd want to watch or play that. Sounds like a funny porn movie. =D
Hmm.. That's a good price for Alan Wake.. I guess.. still over $10. Although even if I wanted to I would've really be able to buy it. My computer couldn't handle it and I can't justify spending money I don't have on a game I can't play.
Damnit, I still need to buy Riddick, and then you guys went and released To the Moon yesterday so I need to buy that as well and now this... come on man, give me some time to get some cash together, a good amount of it's gonna end up being spent here regardless :P
Great promo
Sounds like an awesome deal, but sadly I'm fairly sure none of my comps can run the game.
I'd love to get these, but will have to wait for another sale down the road. Got far too many games as is, and I'm saving for some things right now. (Don't worry, not the Steam sale.)
would love to take advantage of this promo but unfortunately i'm broke til payday

tfishell: More old Team17 RELEASES.
I applaud this but...anything left? Do they have rights for Lemmings for PC?

The best Worms games are still to be released.

Would surprise me. All Lemmings games were published by Psygnosis which is now part of Sony.

And concerning other classic Team17 releases: there was also a nice shoot 'em up game titled Project X and a beat'em up series titled Body Blows. And there's of course always more Worms games as well as the new Alien Breed series.

Purchased! Thank you! I was just thinking of buying American Nightmare after completing the origianl.

Good game. Excellent and engrossing story. Even if the game starts to feel a little "samey", the draw of the story will keep you playing.

Psygnosis - of course...I keep mixing Team17 with them since Amiga times...Nevertheless more classics from them are welcome - those new ones - not interested.
I've heard SONY is in the hole - they should consider selling PSX bios. Playstation classics on GOG - that would be sth :-)

Yeah, it's easy to confuse them. Also in my mind there's some imaginary connection between the Lemmings and Worms series just because both original games were about cute pixelated characters dying gruesome deaths. And true, the new Team17 releases are really uninteresting (they somehow managed to make the new Alien Breed series worse than both the original ones and Shadowgrounds). Unfortunately some other good Team17 games, such as Alien Breed 3D and Assassin, were Amiga only so we won't see them on GOG... at least until they start releasing Amiga games. Shouldn't be impossible since there's already some places where you can legally buy the Amiga Kickstart file, Workbench and even some games online. GOG should consider this at least once they get problems releasing more DOS and early Windows games.

And yeah, Sony has been having some serious issues for years. It's incredible that even in desparate times they are remaining too arrogant to make their BIOS available to others. I mean, at least make a deal with some company like GOG so they can publish PSX games in combination with kind of an official emulator or something. Idiots.
