GameRager: Number 4 could be abused though....just my two cents.
The only way it would be abused is if GOG made a very poor choice in their selection of moderators. A similar system has been used on another, far larger forum, for well over a decade and the amount of "abuse" by moderators has been negligible.
And when it did happen, it was generally a result of very poor security management, ie, said moderators allowed other people to use their accounts. Which again, goes back to the first point of making a poor choice in the selection of moderators -- and that's easily remedied by giving moderators further limited powers for a probationary period while ensuring the selected person is actually right for the task.
Further to that, you can also have the system set such that any action taken by a probationary moderator has to be vetoed by a moderator who has already proven their worth (ie, one who is no longer on probation).
And in the highly unlikely event that such "abuse" did occur, all it would do would be to prevent some users from posting until a GOG staffer reversed the action.
The ultimate point is, for any concern over possible "abuse" their is always a solution.
