Space Hulk is one of the greatest First Person tactical games ever made in quite a few peoples opinions, a sqaud based strategy game with a FPV. you control from 1-10 marines as you slowly progress from corridor to room reaching each objective through tactical placement and use of each marine all palyed out like a first person shooter. The game is such a treasured memory of mine i really want to see it on GOG.

Anyone else?
I've been expecting this ever since they signed EA.
Except that to add this, they would need Games Workshop and the 40K license on board. They would ALSO need Relic/THQ to agree to it, since they currently hold the exclusive games rights to the 40K license.

It would be easier to expect another Space Hulk game to be made by Relic than it would be to see the old one re-released by EA. They did kind of flirt with the idea in DoW2, albeit top down. But given the way THQ is right now, nothing can be said to be for certain.

I would love to see them maybe try a Space Hulk game using the Space Marine or DoW 2 engine. I think there could be real possibilities with something like that.

But yeah, another idea that may never come to pass.

THQ are in a bad way and their poor decisions have led to this. So that does reduce the likelihood of them turning the situation around without them going into administration (or the US equivalent), having new management appointed and they do what needs to be done.

But until we know the 40K license is in safe hands - THQ's or otherwise - we can't really speculate on future 40k titles.
Going a bit OOT, but I wonder how GW will do if THQ goes down. GW have had some pretty serious financial trouble, and part of what has helped keep them in a decent shape has been licencing money. GW has, much like THQ, made some pretty bad decisions in the past (opening too many stores, constantly changing their mind about rule directions, overspending on events, closing down Black Industries when Black industries was the only part of the company not being in the red, "forgetting" about armies (thus making people who play them leave for other games), overspending on the LoTR licence, and I'm sure that we can find more things that GW has done to put themselves in the position that they are right now)

GW seem to be doing just fine recently. 40K has come back nicely, the Fantasy Flight 40K RPG series has done well enough that a 5th is looming for release, and apparently a new edition of Blood Bowl is about to appear. Besides, it isn't like they would struggle to find someone eager to develop under the 40K license.

You seem to be right. Their stocks has doubled in value over the last 3 years, and they seem to have been able to get out of the big hole that they dug themselves.

The problem is not to find someone who can develope for the licence, but rather someone who can deliver consistently good results. Just look at how poorly the WHFB licence has fared.
been trying to get this game to work on W7 but seems far to difficult. I really want this game on gog so im bumping this thread. :)

games like this that were classics but wont run on Windows are the sort of games we need putting onto gog with windows compatibility.

Try to run it in a virtual machine, that should fix most of your woes (but possibly not all of them).

Anyway, in the end, this is a game that GOG will have a hard time getting their hands on, so your best option is probably to try and fix it yourself (remember, GOG only fixes the games within the limitations of what can be done by a common person, they don't mess with the game's code (as they are not allowed to do so))
Or you could just seek out a little game called Alien Assault. It basically is Space Hulk, and a number of mods easily turn it in to exactly that.

Alien assault is a top down tactics game, Space Hulk Vengeance of the blood angels is a tactical shooter.

Ah, good point. I was thinking more along the lines of the board game when I said that.
yea i have played alien assault, its a really good game. But Space Hulk VOTBA isnt anything like it really. Ignoring the GW license Space Hulk VOTBA is a classic fps/strategy hybrid in its own right.

As for running it on a virtual machine i beleive isnt possible, dosbox doesnt work i bleeive its a windows 95 game. But running it in windows 95 compatiblity doesnt work either. Its an EA title and EA are on gog so i think its a possibility. THQ now own the GW license but i highly doubt that extends to games that predate them.
