It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hello, for the past couple months the gog downloader has basically done nothing. Every time it opens it asks me to sign in which, I do (note: this is when I try to download a game from my library) it never displays my profile picture and after the sign in screen goes away, nothing happens. I contacted support and the farthest we got was that something is blocking the downloader, but its unknown as to what could be doing that. I also had completely disabled the firewall for a little over 12 hours then trying to download a game again and still nothing worked. I do have older computers that can download the games but slowly, and I would like to have everything working. I tried using fiddler and it showed that everything worked fine and it didn't have issues connecting, but I know that something is causing this. Also the downloader log just says clicked and with whatever game I tried to download and that's about all that happens. I don't know if this pc is just a rare case or something, but it bothers me that something is wrong with it as I have been using the the downloader on this pc since I joined gog and never had any issues with it at all.

Probably this has been covered by GOG Support already, but:

- did you install any programs just before this issue started?
- did you turn off your antivirus to make sure it's not the culprit? (An update may have flagged the DLer as dangerous or malware and thus may be blocked by the antivrus).
- don't know if it will make a difference, but did you try accessing your GOG library through a different browser and then initiating the GOG DLer?

I just did a quick check and it's working fine for me.

To answer your questions, the only programs that have been installed before the issue were gog games and steam games, malware bytes, MSE, Famitracker, and Fiddler. The only antivirus I use is MSE and Malware bytes along side it, neither of them care about the downloader at all as I uninstalled malware bytes and disabled MSE and it still wouldn't work. I did try using firefox, Explorer, Aurora, and chrome it didn't change the problem. I'm glad its working for you as I like the download, but I have never seen this kind of problem before.

Yeah, I figured all that was probably covered, but thought I'd toss it out there to get the ball rolling. This is a weird one, for certain. Only other thing I can think of is delete/uninstall the DLer and reinstall to see if it works. Likely you've tried that as well though.
Are you using Chrome? If so, when you launch the downloader, it will pop up a box full of techno-gibber and ask if it has permission to open an external connection. If you said no at some point, out of an abundance of caution, it will block the downloader, and it may remember this choice. This setting, if it is the problem, is very hard to undo, and the easiest fix - I looked into this for someone once - is often just deleting your Chrome profile.

Does this sound at all familiar?

Yes that box just asks if its you who is making it go to the link to send the download to the downloader. I never select remember my answer and I just go with start application each time. If you select no then remember my answer nothing will happen as to be expected, but I know that this is not the issue, but its never bad to ask those things.

I have tried it but its never bad to ask the simple troubleshooting questions because sometimes those are the solutions.

Have you tried ccleaner - clean registry? Don't think it would work since you've tried the other explorers but Igive it a shot wouldn't hurt?
It may suck a little but you could always system restore to a point before the problem started. Its not guaranteed to work but it should fix most non hardware issues
Uninstall downloader. Reinstall downloader. Did it for me.
