Snickersnack: I hope that's not the case. The classic Tomb Raider games would be really nice to have on GOG. Heck, I wouldn't mind FF7 & 8 PC either.

This is the same company that keeps selling The Last Remnant for $40 on Steam when the game's been clearanced on XBox 360 and available for less than $10 for several months already. :P
I thought the same as you. I'm normally a cheap bastard but figured Squenix would never lower the price on principle. So I broke down and bought it when I found a copy for $10 off. Next week it was on a steam sale for $5. LOL.

It was cool though. Last Remnant PC turned out to be my favorite Squenix JRPG. It's battle system is different from FF so it might not be for everyone. Just avoid the XBox 360 version. It's broken and probably responsible for most of the poor reviews. Charging $10 for it is borderline unethical.

Delixe: Also it would be an epic troll move to release something like Daikatana especially if you spend a week building up to the release. You could all have that weekend off safe in the knowledge that there would be lulz on the forums.
Having had the distinctive, um, pleasure of playing that game shortly after release (And was not, oddly, made John Romero's bitch), I would think the likely result of releasing Daikatana after two weeks of buildup would be that someone would fly out to Poland, track down our offices, and stab me in the face.

But could just be my view of things. :P

They have sales on their Final Fantasy MMORPGs all the time, but all the other stuff is rarely put on sale, and that ticks me off a bit. I've been waiting for Last Remnant to go down in price for MONTHS, and nothing. I missed the $5 sale. :(

A friend of mine really recommended this game and I do want to buy it, but again, $40.

I'd definitely consider it.

It amazes me that most of the press regarding this game involved Stevana Case's rack. When looking for her real name (instead of Killcreak) I came across this press release:

Snickersnack: Is it just the official release that is unplayable or is the exdev patched one (build 46) having problems as well? The official release is really buggy.

bansama: All versions. You used to be able to get it working on Nvidia cards using the "Extension limit" option, but Nvidia have in their infinite wisdom seen fit to remove that option from the 260.xx drivers. Thus rendering the game unplayable. Apparently, ATi drivers never had that option, thus the game is unplayable.
I have not yet moved up to the latest drivers because I'm hoping for a new nHancer first. But I heard that the extension limit option was removed because that option disables most OpenGL extensions, some of which are necessary. So the only proper way to make it work with new drivers is to use Nvidia Inspector to set the 4 digit hex value. If a new nHancer is ever made then it will also be able to set that value.
So you could try that if you want to make Anachronox work.

Wow, lmao, that is awesome. She didn't help matters, she was an attention seeker for sure. It's hard to believe Warren Spector didn't ever say anything (so far as I know). They had different offices but he was busy producing one of the best games of all time while they were whoring out for publicity for Daikatana (sorry to any prostitutes for associating the term whore with Daikatana).
