I've been on Ubuntu exclusively for a few months now and I couldn't be more than happy, and I'm even more grateful that GOG is supporting Linux. Currently in my GOG library I have a few games that have a Linux port that has been out for quite a while (and with no problems from the publishers and developers) that are not on GOG currently, including:

Rogue Legacy
System Shock 2
The Cat Lady
Puddle
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Torchlight
Realms of Arkania 1,2,3
Machinarium
Symphony
To The Moon

These are just the games I own, but I'm sure there's more. I'm sure GOG is currently working on this, but I've been seeing other games being released with a Linux port, but others seem to be taking their time. Some are going to suggest to use Wine in the mean time, but that doesn't change that other storefronts, mainly Steam, have native Linux versions. While I do like Steam, I shouldn't have to buy the same game on Steam or any other store just to enjoy a stable gaming experience on my Linux rig.

Maybe I'm just not patient enough, but I wanted to see if other people are having the same thoughts as I am.
I've been thinking about this lately too. I still dual boot, but I so rarely boot into windows these days that I've been seriously considering dropping the windows install altogether. There is still the odd thing I need windows for, but a VM can handle that.

I have a number of GOG games that I purchased with the gamble that a Linux version would come someday. Some of these I've never played while waiting for the Linux version:

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Expeditions: Conquistadors
Megabyte Punch
Rogue Legacy
Penumbra Collection

GOG certainly has no obligation to provide a Linux version, and I'm under no illusion that they do.

A few comments about the games you listed. Torchlight, to the best of my knowledge, was ported by or for Humble, and is only available from Humble. Not even steam has the Linux version of Torchlight.

As far as I can recall, the System Shock 2 game on Steam is just a wine port. I might be wrong about that though. I looked at it a long time ago, and my memory is a bit hazy about it.

I officially bequeath you the GOG God!

That's awesome - I've been looking forward to playing it for awhile, but I've been holding off, waiting for the Linux version to drop!

Yeah Torchlight was ported by the Humble Team, but I don't see why they shouldn't provide GOG customers with it, since they are a non-profit (either that or they should disclose if it's a Humble exclusive, which would seem odd). And SS2 uses wine, but it's one of those few exceptions where it's expected since it's a really old game. Plus I've played it on steam via family sharing and it's extremely stable.

Oh yeah I agree that GOG has no obligation, but they said that them coming to Linux would include games they sell which already have a Linux client (Source: http://www.gog.com/news/gogcom_soon_on_more_platforms).
