I am trying for many hours to download a large file, 2 gb, and it takes AGES. After 4 hours or so the connection with the gog server was lost, then I had to restart and it says 9 or so hours remaining! Come on guys!!!
I can download at 1.7MB/s so I don't think it is GOGs fault.
working better than usual for me, on the west coast of the US
I would wager it's due to the holiday sale. A lot of people bought a lot of games, and they're even downloading them !
So it'll get better soon.
getting the pretty standard 1.5 MB/s here...

/me is downloading games and making DVD backups
It's still very slow for me, although slightly better than an hour ago. It downloads with 1mbit/sec speeds at best, when I have a 24mbit connection.
First time it does so slow for me. Perhaps it's just the day.

Can you use the GOG Downloader? That way if the download stops, you can start it again from where you left off.

yeah, I decided to do it earlier. It's at 87% now.
slightly faster speed, oh well.
Thanks for the suggestion.

What am I doing wrong?
It has finished (it says completed) but I have three files. two of them are bin files and the other ends in gogDownload.
shouldn't there be a setup file there too? Or am I supposed to mount the files manually?

ok, I tried a different game (one that was all in one file) and it worked. I tried to redownload this game (btw it is NVW) after deleting the corrupted? file and it downloaded it again.
I went and downloaded the file using http and then tried to install the game and it worked.

I hope GOG fixes this.
