Hi everybody,
I know this probably doesnt belong here, but its general discussion, right? :D I usually disliked WoW strongly, but with Cataclysm coming, I said to myself why the heck not? And now I am getting ready to start playing but I have one slight problem. I cant decide on which realm to play. So I wanted just to ask if any goger is WoW player and if they could direct to me to good EU RP or RPPVP server

I play on Shattered Halls (PVP).
While you can find good people on RP realms, the problem is that there is a lot of non-RPing people and the GMs don't do much about it. Heck, even on the forums there was quite a few threads where RPers complained about GMs doing nothing and even about people who were purposedly disrupting others' RP activities.
You can't RP in WoW. Stay the heck away from RP servers, they're full of a) griefers and b) complete lunatics who think they can RP in WoW.

Find a good PvE or PvP server. If you plan on a lot of soloing and wouldn't like to get horribly killed in Stranglethorn every once in a while, go PvE. If you like PvP go PvP.
I recently moved my Alliance characters from Argent Dawn to Darkmoon Faire (both RP, non-PVP).

I mostly play alliance, so if you want to meet up I suggest making an alliance character on Darkmoon Faire and look up a dwarf by the name of Sanni. If you prefer horde, make a character of that allegiance on Argent Dawn and look up an orc called Thurbaxa.

Alliance (DF): Sanni, Maille, Adrinei, Merann, Seravin, and Jakinya.
Horde (AD): Thurbaxa, Berdane, Mirthe, Merij, and Seravie.
With at least one each of goblin and worgen being added when I get home and pick up my preordered Cataclysm CE.

Why did you move from AD? I am thinking about going to Argent dawn or Defias Brotherhood, and how are you happy now on DF?

Detlik: Why did you move from AD? I am thinking about going to Argent dawn or Defias Brotherhood, and how are you happy now on DF?
Reason: I wanted more character slots but didn't want to remove the characters I already had (stories and personalities I made up for them, a feeling of loss, and all that). I also wanted the new characters to be able to get help from the higher-leveled ones in terms of items and money from time to time, so just making a new character elsewhere wasn't the solution I was looking for. When Blizzard opened the free character migration a few days ago I thought it was as good a time as any to make the move.

What I think: I'm not sure yet, I mostly play solo so I didn't really have any friends to leave behind. The biggest difference would be the auction house, but I probably just need a little time to figure out the different trends. The lower population probably makes a difference there.

And is there population difference in numbers from AD? Or simply put what differences there are from AD?

Do you have icq or something so we can discuss this? :)

Yes, AD is listed as "full", meaning it has a very high population (and the reason they opened the free migration to lower-populated servers). I'm not sure yet how much it matters in terms of activity as it has only been a couple of days and i haven't been online much.

Sure, send me your number through GOGPM. I'll get Trillian installed on this machine so I can add you.

I might have missed something but honestly I have no idea what GOGPM is.

Ah, yes, you did. In absence of an official GOG PM function, Barefoot_Monkey created an unofficial one - in no way tied to your GOG account other than that you need to use the same user name (confirmed through a random code you need to post in a thread on the forum).

GogPM site
Discussion about it
Verification thread
You can even get notifications of new messages while surfing GOG through an optional script.

Ah, never mind. My ICQ is (removed). Now I'll probably get a buttload of spam.
