Export: I'd say the vast majority of people died standing up. Think of all the soldiers who have been killed in history, all the people who were killed during a mugging... Then again, sitting down outside is also dangerous since that would include people sitting behind the wheel in a vehicle, and that's a dangerous thing to do, statistically. I'm going to stay sitting here at my desk and at least I know that when I die, it'll be on my terms - and I'm pretty sure I can't crash this office chair into anything at a fatal speed, despite my efforts to use it like an indoor car.
All do respect, i think most people died lying down. Either in their bed, or on the battlefield.

Well I was mainly joking but I would say that the thing that kills them happens when they're standing, at least. If they'd stayed sitting down indoors, they'd have been fine. As for dying of old age lying down, well that's true but that's usually in their sleep not when they're sitting in a chair playing The Witcher or something.

Then again, I did hear how most injuries happen in your own home, but that's counting things like "scalded by hot water" or "banging your head on a low ceiling" as an injury rather than "hit by a bus" or "stabbed".
