Are there any FRPG's on Gog that only have the player control one character? I am looking for a simple to play FRPG for my daughter, who wants to play WoW, but I won't let her.

anything here fill that bill?

If she wants to play an MMO i'm not sure she will be happy with a single player rpg. Why not set the bounderies/play-time from the off, make sure she agree's to your terms and try her with the WOW free trial?
She doesn't acre about the MMO. She just likes the fantasy look. I'm a 5 year WoW player, and there is no way I would let my 9 year old daughter play WoW. So, that is why I am looking for a simple FRPG.

Not to sound like an online pervert, but how old is your daughter? Some games I wouldn't recommend to children.

First or third person RPG's that pop to mind are Arx Fatalis and Two Worlds, but I've only tested both for a couple of minutes and haven't played them, so I don't know how violent they are. Are you preventing her from playing WoW because of the violence or because of the rather colorful commentary she could get from other players? (or maybe because of the monthly fee?)

edit: Nine? There's a couple of kid's games here, but I don't think any of them is first/third person or fantasy.

Non GOGs, you could always try Fate on Amazon or maybe Torchlight on Steam but they're Diablo like, not third person.

The colorful commentary.

Maybe Septerra Core? It's a nice(ish) Final Fantasy clone.
King's Bounty is fairly pretty in a WoWish kind of way. I don't know if it would be too difficult for her though.
Divine Divinity.
Well you got Neverwinter nights now. It is a single character game (you can have a sidekick, but he is computer controled) and at a price of 10$ it's full of content.
And the story isn't too complex if your daughter is young, it's more of a classic farytale.

Hey, might want to let her play Toontown Online. It's very kid-friendly, and quite easy to get into. Having played it before myself many years back, considering it's a kids' game, it's actually quite fun. If you're afraid of colourful commentary, there's a chat filter too I think. Not sure how good a job the moderators perform with regards to player abuse though, but I've yet to see crude behaviour from other players.

There's also Fusionfall, which is an MMO spanning content across various Cartoon Network cartoons, including Ben 10, Dexter's Lab and more. Never played this one before, but reviews say it's good.

Lastly, when all else fails, Club Penguin is not bad too.

I'd never let a child play any MMO, period. Not because of content or the chance of meeting perverts, but because of the addictive nature of the genre and the often unethical business practices employed by the makers of these games (especially the ones in the "free to play" market segment).

I suppose Fable might be a fairly simple game to play. Only the first game in the series is available for the PC (the third game is coming to the PC later).
You could check out Free Realms. It fun and has a lot of variety on mini-games and quests. Ranging from traditional mmo stuff to cart racing. You could check Numen also. Its just $2 on sale at the moment on steam.

Divine Divinity as mentioned before, and also the Sacred Gold series. They're a little diablo-esque, which is I guess kinda what you are going for.

For other non-GoGs, the elder scroll series are first person RPGs in a fantasy setting. I personally like Morrowind, but for someone young Oblivion might be a better choice.

She doesn't really have to get in the community and all that. Plus, you can have fun playing together. :)

About something similar... Check out Torchlight. It might get boring after a few hours (because its basically the same thing over and over again (with the exception of the changing environments)), but its on sale for $10 right now, and for that much, it is worth.
I would second the Morrowind suggestion. Its a great game in an open world. I think I was vastly over powered by the time I got around to the main quest due to all the side quests and factions in the game.

Also, as for WoW you could look to see what parental control settings there are. There may be an option where you can disable the chat if you were to get her an account seperate from yours. If the chat is what your worried about. I don't see much chat that would be out of line when I play... but then again I turned off all the public channels on my characters so I wouldn't have to deal with them and stick to guild and private channels created by friends.
