cw8: @Michaelleung
I have the retail version and the exppack and everything else 7 years ago :) My CDs are getting old and I worry for them so I want to get the digital versions so that I own my favourite game series forever.

michaelleung: You could just rip the games to your hard drive. At least in some countries where fair use is still a right.

Not sure about Singapore, but I doubt in DMCA land you would be taken to court for making software backups on a personal, limited basis. Ever.

Yeah but to use a no-CD crack on an executable to run it without a disc would constitute infringement of some sort, would it?
Great. Now I can do the right thing and buy it, the last time I wanted to play it I pirated the game and bought the expansion. Also did the same with The Sims back when it only had a single expansion and I had a 28.8k modem.
Now, please make SimCity 2000 and Streets of SimCity available.

The law is so poorly done that using mods or even exploring the game folders could technically be illegal, that is why it is a ridiculously stupid law.
My point was more that no company would take you to court if you purchased the game and didn't distribute the cracked version, or any files.

Not really. That's more to do with not paying for a copy.
It would, in most cases, be a breach of the EULA. But then like StingingVelvet points out, so would using mods. Even companies that openly support mods have EULAs that don't. Further proof that EULAs are largely invalid.
Meh, I wish they'd price it at a reasonable price, greedy bastards. Asking €20 for a 7 year old game is a travesty. You can get a brand new retail game for a few € more. When I read this topic I thought, $10 is about the right price. Yeah, they went three times over that.

I have duplicated the discs into 2 other backup discs. But I still want a digital version as well. :D

So if I order the UK version, I should be able to see it and play with no hassle like all GG games I bought from the US main site?

You're right! no wonder now why it's not on GOG :(
Oh well, here's still hoping for 2000 and 3000 to get here *crosses fingers*

Yup. As you are not in the US, that is the only way you can buy it I expect. But regardless of whether you buy from the .co.uk or .com sites, all your games will show up in your "my games" page on either site.
Only Wishlists seem to be specific to the .co.uk site. Any EA UK game added to your wishlist will not display on the .com site.

Thanks! I'm gonna buy it before it disappears again.

Wow, that's amazing. You just convinced me to buy SimCity 4.
Those pictures convinced me to do something worthwhile in the game aside from setting fire to everything.

Haha, great. Simcity 4 is simply fantastic. The user-made buildings make the possibilities of creating any city in the game, limitless.

There's a dedicated B.A.T. team whom have almost created every single prominent building in Hong Kong:

Just search for Hong Kong in the ST Exchange. You might be interested in that.
They even made one of our most prominent skyscrapers, the OUB Centre. Although I made the rest of the our buildings. I got lazy:

I've been thinking about buying this at retail for a couple of months now, but I think I'll be patient and wait for a sale.
I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it, though. I used to play Sim City all the time as a kid, but I haven't touched a game like that in many years.
