What would cause this? I've only had this happen one other time with Alpha Protocol. I think it is due to overheating because it takes so long to install but not sure.

Every time it does it, it corrupts the installer files as well.

I can install Silverfall if I have Earth Awakening installed first but that defeats the purpose as it overwrites EA and doesn't patch Silverfall.
Bump ditty bump bump
Well a quick test for the overheating hypothesis involves opening the case and pointing a big fan running on maximum into it. That used to be the only way I could keep a system running a few summers back when I was between air conditioners

Hmm...Right before new years I got new high power heat sink and fan, cleaned out the dust and attached yet another processor fan to the inside of the case to suck the hot air out the vents.

Haven't been any problems until now but it takes over thirty minutes to install and the only other game that did this was Alpha Protocol which took over thirty minutes to install as well.

I fixed the AP situation by taking out the high-powered Radeon I had and putting this lower powered card in.

Wonder if I'm going to have to drop to my next lowest card (doesn't require its own fan) temporarily just for the installation of this game.

Oh, by the way, I'd do the fan thing but I'm out of plugs in this room. My socket strip is filled.
