It'd certainly be a good game for a particular digital distributor to get but i think at the moment that ebay is your only likely source

Ah, the memories. I need to dust off my copy and try it again...I remember my friends doing all sorts of cool stuff with the ability that the game gave you to edit units, like make flying cities.

The game got a budget reprinting (with the expansion) in Europe via SoldOut Software, so it's a lot cheaper than it was a couple of years ago. You get the disc and a PDF manual.

I remember selling a complete copy of Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack for $100 two years ago!

I ended up having to set "ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1" in order to get it to work with the patch, but after that I had no problems and no need to set compatibility mode.
