So yeah, another Kickstarter project showed up, this time its Shadowrun Online. This is one different to the other Shadowrun project from a few months ago and is being made by another team. It looks like they are cooperating on the story and settings, though.

So, Cliffhanger Productions is making this one, its the new independent studio that made Jagged Alliance Online. To be honest i didnt even know that JA Online had been released already (its in open beta, actually).

It will be a F2P MMO with monthly subs for those who want to speed things up a bit.

Looks promising, but one thing that bothered me is that they dont show any gameplay or even engine footage in the video. Just concepts, nothing else.

Oh, and heres the JA Online link for those that are interested.

Havent played it myself.
They have released 2 gameplay trailers from the prototype version, and i have to say this looks really good. Too bad there are 10 days to ago and it still hasn't achieved even half of it's goal. C'mon guys, let's do this, it's is a Shadowrun game, and it's looking really good from the gameplay videos. This has to happen. I have pledged U$25 myself.

C'mon, spread this project around. Let's get this funded.
C'mon guys, 8 hours to go and only 24k to reach the funding goal. Let's make this happen.
It has achieved it's funding goal.
This seems a bit sketch, you sure it's real? I thought all the Shadowrun IP was bought back and lived with Harebrained Schemes, not true?

It's real. Harebrained is doing a SP game and these guys are doing the multiplayer game.

Watch their initial video and you'll figure it out. :)

Yeah hadn't done that since funding was over. Thanks.

It is real. They got the rights to make a MP game, like Falci already explained. They are even cooperating with Harebrained Schemes on story and settings, so both games can share the same background.

They even have a video with Tom Dowd, who is a co-creator of the Shadowrun pen and paper RPG. So yeah, it's definately real. And Cliffhanger made Jagged Alliance Online already.

When i first saw it, i was also like "wtf wasn't there a Shadowrun Kickstater already?", but then when i watched the video i realised it was a whole different thing.

Not that I wanted another MMO, really, but I do wish I'd known about it while it was going on. Either I need to check the Kickstarter thread more often or this one had poor word of mouth.
I'll stick with my Genesis version :-P

Glad it got funded for anyone who's interested, though.

This doesn't interest me at all. I don't really enjoy MMOs, but I am glad they made their goal.
