It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Anyone know of an application to record and manage serial numbers? Something like KeePass, but oriented toward keeping all those numbers in one place.

Did a quick google, found LOTS of warez sites (ironically, googling "serial" actually tends to find warez sites, whereas googling "warez" tends to find porn sites). So maybe someone here who wants karma can do the search for me (or already knows about it).

So, chop chop :p

Oh, and preferably with a way to lock the database with a password (and preferably some fancy encryption).

Excel maybe? I use it to manage my accounts, passwords, places I've registered and stuff like that. It has the option to password protect the documents, not sure how it does that though.

I use KeePass for both passwords and serials.

Though that's probably not an answer you're looking for.

I use MS Access adding bells and whistles as needed.
https://lastpass.com/

It's browser-based, and I don't know about any encryption.

EDIT: But at least it's free ;)

To be honest, I personally just use an office document to do that. I then add new entries alphabetically. But I don't really have that many so it's not that much of an issue.
Google docs spreadsheet (with an interface built on top to make it more pleasant to add files) or just throw them in an Excel file and sync it with Dropbox
Hell, just .txt file it.
I have started a software app to do this.. but I keep on getting distracted and not continuing work on it :/ - never really thought anyone else would want something like that, and any ideas I come up with tend to be taken already by better programmers (except, oddly enough, this one apparently)

I use text files right now, though I have multiple pre-alpha builds of my app I have used at various points as well as an Excel spreadsheet I used for a day or two and an Access DB I never finished.
I also use Keypass and put the serial in the password field (without the password masking on).
Or you can always use TruCrypt with a text file. The KeyPass idea is just as good, game name as userid and serial for password (no masking).
I've been looking for a good one for years. The only ones I ever found that were any good actually /came/ with serial keys, which isn't exactly what I was looking for. For a few years I used a text file, but now I'm using AceText, a $40 Shareware program for clipboard and text snippet management. That's probably a steep price for license key management, but I bought it primarily for other things, and it just happens to be great for this too.

I had planned to write my own serial key manager for years too, probably in Java or something, but now that I don't need one, I don't really have the motivation to do it.

Edit: Attached is an AceText screenshot of my license keys (with the licenses blurred out ;)). I need only double-click a title and the appropriate license key is copied to my clipboard. AceText also supports encryption.

I use Notebook and its sister application Pen. I store them in an amazing compression program called Closet.

Yeah, I'm being a smartass, I keep hard copies of all my serials though, just in case.
I use GCStar to keep track of my game collection, and put the serial numbers in the Notes of the individual games.
