xxxIndyxxx: Nope didn't read that. Saw some of the movies based off his books but i'm sure it's not one of them

Rodzaju: I'm not aware of a movie based on that one....
O sorry that's not what i meant. I have not read cardinal of the kremlin but only saw some movies based on other books of him. I think i only read patriot games.
Saw the thread title and my first thought was also Altered States, read the description and was also reminded of Cardinal of the Kremlin. But now that I think about it I vaguely remember the scene you are talking about. Unfortunately I don't remember where from right off the top of my head. So the good news is you aren't crazy, the bad news is I can't help you at this time.

Give me a little bit of time while I search my Netflix history for the past several months to see if I find something.
I know the particular scene that you're talking about, one of my teachers back in high school showed it in class. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the movie.

On a slightly off-topic note, Richard Feynman used to experiment with sensory deprivation in such tanks. I'd really recommend reading his (auto?)biography. It's fantastic.

Damn, too bad you can't remember where it's from. Maybe you can describe it more accurately then me so other people might figure it out??
I know of one such movie, but I have no clue who the actors were nor the title.
I'll post if it pops up in my mind.

xxxIndyxxx: Summary:
interrogation of probably a bad buy whose afraid of drowing
the shine a light in his eyes and in the mind of the victim it like a huge light in the darkness and he thinks (if i remember corretly) that god is talking to him.

It's driving me mad...(also tried googling but couldn't find it)
To me, it sounds like that Baltar interrogation scene in the third season of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. They used hallucinogenic drugs rather than sensory deprivation tank though. The effect was pretty much the same.
Ben Affleck woke up in one in the beginning of Daredevil. I love the first 45 or so minutes of that movie.

I remember The Jacket has something like that.

You sir are right!!! I couldn't remember the specifics but that was what i was refering to, the scene in the lost symbol sparked this scene in my memory. Thank you, here's a cookie and some rep+++
I'm glad someone figured it out. I kept trying to pull more info about the scene from my memory and was able to add that it was a TV show rather than a movie, the person being questioned was a scrawny white guy with a European accent and that it may have been while watching the SyFy channel. I added that to my Google search and kept getting pointed to Captain Piccard yelling "There Are Four Lights!" But then I went in the wrong direction trying to remember Doctor Who and Being Human episodes.

+1 for the find.
