I take a wild guess; that some people here like and use emulators. That is why i decided to ask, if someone has knowledge, of WHICH saturn emulator might work with windows 7. I have tried most, if not all of them, and still, no good.

I was itching to have a good replay of a certain old game, because its remakes are only for Steam, and i did not like them the least bit when i tried them a little to see how they are. In my XP system (which is now dead), at least 2 emulators worked nicely. Here, on 7, i can make no one of them to even run (they crash or end up in indefinitely black screen).

I know GoG is not an emulation place. Yet, still, does anyone know which Saturn emulator might just work with windows 7?
I think BizHawk is the one you're looking for, it's perfect for hobbyists and speedrunners/TASers as well :)
I used SSF in the days when I used Windows, but it was before Windows 7, and it was quite good.
Yabause was an interesting choice too.
SSF is probable the best Saturn emulator i use it and it works great on windows 7.

yes it is, but it needs high system specs
i have tried a ton of emulators since i owned a solo game saturn game cd , ssf is the best it almost emulates all of the game such as fancy effects , correct models etc but terrible saving method and lacks ease of use and slow as well.

Yabause is good but it does not emulate stuff as well as ssf
Will try those. Thanks for answers/suggestions! I hope at least one of them works...

Yabause worked, but is unplayable, lags too much. Tampering with settings/plugins did not do it any good. SSF does not work, neither Satourne does. Those two had been the first i had tried (and had forgotten their names, up until now, that i retried them).

*Sigh*. No more Sotn for me. Damn.

Have you kept the xp installation disk? If yes, you can also try running the emulator in a virtual pc, you can get the necessery program (windows virtual pc) from microsoft.com.

It used to, but newer versions were much better optimized and support save-states.

What might cause some emulators to not work (and make some older non-emulated games to glitch) - it's Windows' visual themes/desktop compositions. Be sure to disable those if you have any problems. All my emus are working just fine on Win7 except for PS1 (it works too, it just doesn't like visual themes).

ver 0.12 beta R1. Some versions were faulty (refused to work entirely, probably newer ones to this too), I sticked with this one as it was doing everything so I could replay some old loved games.

i played exactly SthA and SF 3 on it, on WinXP with 4 GB RAM (read 3 GB) and some exotic triple core CPU (subpar to i3). It was unplayable on SSF up to this ver because of very low fps, but full 50-60 fps was with this one almost all time for me. If there are still some fps problems, turning off music/sound in options speeds things up a lot.
