GameRager: Thanks.......I didn't know who Katarn was talking to/about...so thanks for clearing that up.

That aside, I think OP is just having a bad day.....he's normally not so bad really IMO.
Days. I've just woken up from the first sleep I've had in 60+ hours. I didn't get the Christmas holidays off, and I didn't get New Year's Eve or New Year's Day off either. All because of stupid people.

@Narushima, I apologize for snapping at you. I eschewed the use of the Greek alphabet letter because it ruined the dynamic of the thread title. In the USA, or at least in MY part of the USA, the program is known colloquially as "u"torrent. We use QWERTY keyboards here, not DVORAK, or the ones that swap just the Z and Y keys.
I love predcon with great love.

Make sure all the necessary ports are open, it sounds like uTorrent is unable to make outside connections.

Much love.

It makes outside connections just fine. It's just that one of the "outside" connections is identified with the name I gave to my machine. Either this is a glitch, or this person is using the same IP address as I am. I use HughesNet satellite internet, so the latter is entirely possible, except it's not because there's still the machine identifier that comes after the IP address.

Wait so it is downloading and you are connected to outside peers? Then don't panic, you've just got Local Peer Discovery turned on. It has no negative effect whatsoever and if you don't want to see yourself, just turn it off in the settings. LPD is totally useless (it's just for connecting to peers on your local network, so if router user #2 is downloading the same thing, you'll connect to eachother first) unless you're on a network downloading the same thing as someone else so there's no gain from leaving it on or turning it off.

No, see, the IP address identified with my machine's name is being downloaded from. I'm downloading from my own machine, according to uTorrent.

Well try turn LPD off as a starting point, if that doesn't work then you need to run the connection wizard and definitely make sure all your ports are open.

No problem.
And the difference is bigger than just swapping a few letters.
Take a look at a French azerty keyboard. You'll notice the µ near the "enter" key.
