TDP: Wake me when there's some actually good news.
The good news is that the game will be playable again after GameSpy shut down.

Get Borderlands 1 and especially Borderlands 2 on GOG, I'll be a very happy person. Although I'll sadly still use steam for coop with friends since it's easy. You can solo most enemies in BL2 solo even the raid bosses so I don't see a problem with offline DRM-free version.

Tarnicus: This leads me to believe that:

a/ Not all versions of Borderlands contained it or
b/ SecuRom was not needed to load Borderlands through Steam
I searched my system thoroughly and SecuROM is installed, so it was most probably installed with Borderlands because I don't remember installing any other game with SecuROM DRM and I also have the Game of the Year edition.

Also for the folks saying the game is now still going to use Steamworks DRM, when I was referring to the game possibly showing up on GOG I meant after the launch of GOG Galaxy which would then support multiplayer as well since Borderlands is primarily a multiplayer game so there is no point in bringing it DRM Free with just offline single player.
