It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hey guys, I just won a code from indiegala here on the gog forums. I have some security issues with it so I was wondering if any of you have any experience with indiegala. As far as I know the gifter is legit so no scamming on his part. I will copy the question i posted in the giveaway topic here:

A security question here: I tried to redeem my key and indiegala asks me to login to steam via a browser. Okay no problem, but when I do it says I try to connect to steam using a different pc, the IP seems to be correct but the location is a bit off ( less then 100 km). When i try to connect to steam using a browser on my on it doesn't do the security check. Is this normal for indiegala??
anybody? I just don't want my steam account to get hacked ;)

Don't be afraid, it's a common issue. For example Steam gives me each day a different locations when I log on Steamgift. This software isn't so rpecise yet, or simply this could depend by your Internet provider.
Hi, I have little experience with IndieGala gifts but I'll share with you.

The location of your internet provider being a bit off is "normal", I have the same with the official Steam webpage sign in outside from the client, actually and every Humble Bundle gifts or first link per page activation.

For IndieGala, however, the gifts are not going to be added to your account, so keep a text document with the provided URL for that record.. Same goes for Bundle Stars gifts, AFAIK.

Cheers! :)

You can register your computer as "trusted" on your Steam account, that should stop the geolocation checks (which are sometimes off).

Regarding the "Sign in through Steam" system, it's quite safe. IndieGala will not see your password, and will not be able to do anything on your account except putting games on it and accessing public usage data. Steam explains that to you on the page where you log in when using "Sign in through Steam". There's information to the right which explains the exact permissions that the third party (IndieGala in this case) is requesting. Inany case, IndieGala won't get any information that would enable them to hack your account.

Technically, what's happening is this:
- IndieGala asks Steam "Is this guy really the owner of that Steam account"
- Steam asks you to log in, using your Steam login and password, which will of course not be shown to anyone else
- Steam tells IndieGala "Yes, that's the owner of the respective STeam account"
- IndieGala tells Steam "Fine, then please add the following game ...."
- Steam follows up on the request.
