The legend itself is being revived by the old team! :-D

After 13 years since the last issue, the best Polish gaming magazine is coming back. This magazine was one of the best things in my childhood time, dozens of hours reading reviews and letters from fellow readers.

If you were a gamer in Poland in 90's - you read SS. I just can't wait to get my hands on it! :)
I have a strange feeling it will end up just like Top Secret when it tried to return from the dead. SS had a good run for a few years but it eventually became painfully unprofessional (the infamous Starcraft "game guide" for example).

It had it's ups and downs, name change to 'New S Service', issues with CDs, dispersion of fan-based sections... But those reviews, humour and those captions under screens - marvelous! :)
Crowdfunding has started:

In less than 8 hours more than 12k $ has been raised! :)
I wish them best but I doubt they will be able to survive more than just a few months unless the're supported by some big publishing group.

People just don't buy magazines any more. Especially about gaming. In this particular case Internet is just better source in hmm..any way I can think of.
Looking back in the past I saw my favorite magazines pass away: Top Secret, SS, Gambler, ...then Fenix..and SF Fantasy&Horror...Only Nowa Fantastyka still 'floats' on the market but for how long :-(?

An idea of releasing it every quarter might be the cure. Anyway, we shall see :)

PS. Add Reset magazine to that list ;)

They would have to add REALLY interesting & unique content. Of course I'll buy it once it will be published :-)
Have you GOG been thinking about little cooperation with Secret Service? Artifex Mundi started one and I was thinking: a potential reader of SS magazine is 30-something today and has nostalgic approach ;-) It matches a potential GOG user then!

A patronate or maybe some cooperation would be great. Maybe next tier - add 20PLN and you'll get for 5.99$ GOG game?

It would be great! :-)
The magazine has been successfully funded! :-) Yay!
Bring back Zzap 64 I say! Only for PC - Zzap PC they could call it!
Or Zzap 64bit?
I misread the title and thought they were bringing out another Silent Service game. Now that I think of it Silent Hunter 5 just came out what 3 or 4 years ago.

But a magazine, dead tree variety at that, has no chance of surviving in this digital world.
