I really think seasonal sales would be pretty cool Idea to try. Okay i know that the games on GOG are already pretty low and cheap but that's the beauty of a sale its once in a while.

I mean Steam make a lot of revenue from the sales they do every now and then so why not GOG, maybe even Series Packs. Steam right now has a Halloween sale with a lot of scary themed game.

What do you think? What are your ideas?

in sort GOG does some things, we have the christmas one, we have stuff in the summer,

Halloween is a big deal over in the states, but not everyone gives a shit about it, I lock the gate and leave to door open, anyone dumb enough to unlock the gate will shit themself when they are faced by 2 German Shepard's and a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
I think EnigmaticT has confirmed somewhere else that there will be some scary games on sale this weekend. That counts as a 'Halloween sale', I guess.
GOG had a pretty big winter sale last year if I remember correctly. Christmas shopping stopped me from being able to plunge then. Hopefully I'll be able to, assuming they do it again this year.

GOG usually does a series or publisher sale every weekend, but yes they're not as widespread(with games from different publishers) as Steam sales are when they do them.

Maybe they'll shutter the site again.
Far as I can tell Steam is shifting toward what many major brand shops are doing - sales all the time. They have a daily sale - a weekend sale and a midweek sale as standard all the time. Add in sales on most newly released items and also one-off specialist and publisher sales.

Then we have their holiday sales which are, granted, much bigger scale again - hitting at Winter, Easter, Midsummer, Halloween and I'm sure a few other times that I've missed.

Sometimes I get dulled to the Steam sale because its so darned often; nice yes, but when you have that many sales one gets the impression that they don't so much have sales as price-rise days instead ;)

I'm waiting to get Old World Blues and Lonesome Road until they go on sale, considering how often things go on sale on Steam, I can rarely if ever justify paying full price. Pretty much the only time I have was for DNF, and that was a very special situation.
I'm okay with seasonal sales because games that aren't usually on sale... suddenly are. Like this Steam Halloween sale, there's a bunch of games that rarely go on sale, along with the usual suspects like Borderlands, STALKER, Penumbra, etc.

There's a bunch of games on sale that I want to get. Too bad I'm broke.
Well, let me consult my wallet.....Hmmmm, seems to have run away from me again...

Unfornately they know what they're doing...about 80% of my games on Steam come from the daily/weekend/holiday sales....

I liked last year's epic christmas sale. Spent um... $150 or so. Haven't played 80% of the games I bought yet. Hmm, maybe gog shouldn't do big sales too often! :)
