No, it's a completely different genre. Sanitarium is an adventure game and Amnesia is a horror/survival game.

I didn't find Sanitarium scary at all. Some parts were kind of sad, and some parts were kind of messed up.

You're comparing apples to spark plugs, they are two very different games. Sanitarium does have some creepy stuff in it and some things will make you wonder after you are done playing (a second playthrough is recommended to see all the little clues along the way) but it does not try to actively scare you the way Amnesia does.

Sanitairum is a great adventur egame. IPt's extremely creepy, has great atmosphere throughotu the game and will leave a lasting impression of itself long after you ar edone playing.
