Apparently people are finding the new Christmas advert from sainsbury's to be offensive. I must of missed something, I thought it was a fantastic emotional short. Sending the Christmas vibe with out the horrific commercialism.

If you don't know about it. It's a short ad about the Germans and British meeting in no mans land on Christmas morning to play a game of football.

Read about it and watch it here. Seems people will complain about anything these days.

That seems rather ridiculous. I'd be more concerned with them using a religious holiday to sell their wares.
An inspiring World War 1 story used to sell the name of a supermarket doesn't give you a commercialism vibe? Ok.

I'm surprised the feelings are this strong over it but can see how some could think it a little tacky seeing as how we just had Remembrance Day this week. The poppies are still pinned to shirts.

It seems people just miss the point completely. If all you can see in that is commercialism then I regret bringing this up. I thought it was a great little piece because it lacked the general commercial shit from every other christmas advert.
"John Lewis has had one complaint for penguin ad from viewer worried it will encourage people to buy the animals"

That made me chuckle.

And for some senseless reason that just triggered the Are You Being Served? theme to start to playing in my head.
