How secure is Hotspot Shield? It would be a way to get around regional pricing but I don't know if I trust it with my paypal details...

Well... I already have it and already use it to bypass region restrictions but yeah, I have strong doubts about using it for any transactions.
Well, it's one of the most popular VPN solutions... I am sure if it was a fraud operation, it couldn't survive so long and so publicly.

Anyhow, I' ve used it for paypal and credit card transactions in a similar way (bypassing regional pricing) and nothing bad happened. It never posed any problems and my accounts (balance, payment moves etc.) never showed any traces of being compromised.

Keep in mind, though, that it cannot substitute other security measure we should take, like anti-virus software.

For example if your computer has a virus (key-logger infection) that steals your key strokes (including card numbers / paypal account details etc.) it wouldn't be fair for Hotspot Shield to take the blame.
While I've never used Hotspot Shield for purchasing, I have used Expat Shield from the same people for buying off the UK EA store. Using that in conjunction with paying via Paypal, I've had no problems.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, as far as I know Expat Shield is the same program, it just gives you a UK IP address instead of a US one.
I wish I could give you both the solution credit, but Stelis was first and has lower rep. :P
