Pretty sure no-one has posted this, I did search. It Certainly crept up quietly. Rune has been released on Steam. Wonder if it'll appear on GOG soon?!

Rune Classic
Crap. Alright then, delete this I guess, sorry!
We need a distribution system called Fire. Then we could get thread titles like "Rune is on Fire".
I hate this, cause now I will buy it and then it will come to GOG and I will want to rebuy it.

I'd like that. Apparently, Human Head Studios publish the game themselves, so the possibility of Rune showing up here exists.
That is the most disturbing news for GOG in years. If Steam is selling tailored old games, that would cause a blow for them.

It's a self published games, it's not like Steam had anything to do with it except distributing it.

To be fair, if more and more publishers would take the effort to self publish their classics it'd probably be just as detrimental.

Then again, it makes more sense for small studio's to do that since they have to care about the few games they have, the larger ones are less likely to be bothered with it, especially if GOG already fills that niche.

tailored? it's not like Rune ever had any compatibility problems. they've included the expansion, added achievements und redesigned some of the levels (added enemy types, cut some levels, etc.).

but Rune Classic showing up on Steam is awesome. more classics deserve such reboots.
This game is really good. I hope GOG gets it too. I have a copy so won't be rebuying it digitally unless GOG gets it.
I've got a copy of it too, and in fact just last week I run it and it seemed to be working fine. So, I may not get it even if it is released by GOG, much less otherwise :-P
