Hmm, but if Activision does acquire Take Two, they will have a new library of classics to bring to GOG, like the Myth games, Oni, X-Com, the GTA games, etc. Honestly, I hope they Take Two does get bought by them just for that reason. :)

You have a point honestly i would rather it be Activision then EA or Ubisoft at least with Activision there's a chance to get some games on GOG. But they haven't released anything on GOG in quite awhile now not sure of how long its been though.
I rather would have like Activision to take over Bethesda if that would mean Fallout would return to GOG.
EA tried to takeover 2K earlier but that got cancelled because of some reason.

Yeah, it's been nearly 2 full years since their last release, Spycraft. There could be many reasons why they haven't brought anything. I think the last official response was to tfishell on Facebook:

And I talked to the people who hold the license to the Heavy Gear games, and they said that they approached Activision to re-release the games on GOG 2 years ago but Activision wasn't interested. I guess all we can do is vote up stuff on the wishlist and beg them on Twitter and Facebook. =\

I think the problem is with Bethesda's parent company, Zenimax. They also own id Software which is why we haven't seen Commander Keen, Doom, Quake, Hexen, Heretic, etc. on GOG either. =\

Or maybe it's because GOG rejected one of id's most historically significant games, Hovertank. :-(

Yes, I'm still bitter about that. :-P

Thanks for the info hopefully they become more interested in doing more business with GOG in the future.

Huh, Hovertank 3-D used to be available for sale here:
http://www.virtualsoftware.com/ProdPage.cfm?ProdID=304
I sent an e-mail and they said that the publisher asked them to remove the game indefinitely. They are still selling the publisher's other games like Keen Dreams, though. I wonder what's going on.
Please, no, not Activision. What's next? GTA Modern Warfare? I like Take Two and i would hate to see Activision killing it.
Holy consolidations, Batman!
Wow. If that is true, then Activision has a LOT of money. I mean, didn't they just buy a whole crapload of shares from Vivendi last year to become an independent company?
Benchmark analyst Mike Hickey discussed...
Nuff said.

Reason was that Take 2 managed to secure the financial resources to withstand EA's onslaught. GTA4 saved take 2 from the hostile takeover and ever since Take 2 grew wildly and acquired insane amounts of money.

Activision is throwing dust here. COD Ghosts was a failure, not making the expected figures and with the amount of money they had to pay Vivendi, they need new IP's to butcher. Vivendi-Activision sold tons of the old Sierra's IP and assets and now they've discovered that the market for COD and Blizzard games is dwindling. You can't expect to stay forever on the same portofolio, for the love of god. Even bloody Bethesda understood that.

Anyway, Activision wants right now more than they can chew.
