F1ach: Severance Blade of Darkness.
Ah - one of my favourite all-time games, would love to see that on GoG

Antimateria: Weird question or some sort of sarcasm.
No and I'm happy that I got to play both.. Well, haven't finished second one. Hopefully 2.0 patch doesn't break saves.
I have a good thing going on in there (I'm dying in spectre wave).

FraterPerdurabo: Why would it be sarcasm?
I know nothing about the series (only tried #1 before the EE came out and didn't particularly like it), but I was wondering whether the story carried on from the first one to the second one, or whatever? For some RPGs, it makes sense to play them chronologically.
That makes sense. But yes, W2 pretty much continues where the first one left off.

Edit: That is why I started myself with first baldurs gate.

OctopusMan: This coming from someone who calls himself RPG Master. Are you trolling sir?

Landeril: Nope. I just don't have a lot of RPG's I consider great.
Well that's fair. Great is a heavy word so using it sparingly is not a bad thing. Turn-based strategy games have superior combat to RPG's anyway but how can you not like the combat in Fallout 1 and 2? It's fun fun fun for everyone. Well maybe you do and maybe the combat in Fallout 1 and 2 is not great, but it is still damn good! I haven't played Dragon Age and I can't see myself doing so in the next decade but maybe the combat is good?

The Temple of Elemental Evil with that community mod has really good combat The problem with combat in RPG's is that there usually is too much of it with not enough variation. With that said i must also say that combat is one of the best parts of RPG games too.

But for some really good turn based combat you should of course look to strategy games instead.
Age of Wonders and Age of Wonders: SM is the one that the OP should be looking for. Awesome tactical combat and a lot of its concepts are based upon RPG mechanics.

Well as its a pretty impossible game to get, maybe the gaming gods would turn a blind eye if you downloaded it from one of the unmentionable sites, the devs are gone out of business since maybe a year or so after the games release.

Some friends of mine have made alot of mods for the game, so check out this site for mods and discussions about the game with fans.

Also try out Drakan if you havent already :)

IIRC theres a workaround on the forum for win 64, if you cant find it just ask, they are very helpful bunch of people :)
It's beyond sad that people list Assassin's Creed or Severance Blade of Darkness as RPGs. I especially love the latter, but come on...

What's next? Halo? "It's an RPG! You play the role of Master Chief!"

Didn't get into Fallout. And DA:O was pretty fun, though not turn based. I support ToEE as I do any D&D game!

Define a RPG then.
