im about to make a purchase but i was wondering which of these 3 games would you recommend getting neverwinter nights, baulders gate 2 or icewindale 2. Which of these do you think is the best one to jump into?
Have you played Baldurs Gate 1 & Icewind Dale 1? The sequels are pretty much more of the same (though better). NWN is pretty good at the start and gets awesome by the second expansion
AD&D
Baldur's Gate 2 is ok.

D&D 3.0
Neverwinter Nights - nice multiplayer and fan modules.
Avoid Icewind Dale 2 - it is very boring.

ohh i havent played BG 1 or ID 1, ive only played a little of neverwinter nights 2.:p sorry my pc rpg experience is pretty dreary, the only pc fantasy rpg i can claim to fully finish all content is dragonage :p
if you want fantasy rpg i recommend:

baldurs gate 1+2, good story, great games, they belong together, if you wanna have weeks and weeks of rpg, here is what you want

planescape torment, heavy story, the game is almost like a book

neverwinter nights 1+2 are more combat oriented, but they should be good too, but i would recommend baldurs gate 1+2 and planescape ^^
Thanks alot for your advice guys, this is the third post im seeing about this planescape i think i will check it out, thanks guys

Just a warning : this game is HEAVY on reading. The dialogues are extremely well written, but don't expect a diablo-like clickfest, you'll be disapointed. Combat is the quite rare, and not very entertaining. However, if it's a good story you're looking for, this is the game you seek.

The story is so well written (it's almost a book, like karacho said. And that's no exageration, believe me. If you're impatient for reading long texts, you should search other game, then), the characters are so unique, and if you thought Fallout had much dialogue, you gonna be shocked when you play this game. In a positive way, of course. : p
I can't recommend you enough this game. It's a masterpiece. A pity it didn't sell well... : /

Now I gonna say some things that are bad (nothing is perfect) :
Combat could be better. More difficulty would be welcome. So if you're looking for a RPG centered in combat, without much dialogs, this is not your game. Also, this game doesn't have a big variety of items your character or the party members can wear.

Here you can see a trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7o_2Wvx3Hc
^ It contains scenes from the game, so maybe you won't want to see it. ^

And Matt talks about Planescape: Torment : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js_T4cxnMPI
^ It contains some minor spoilers. Nothing to worry about, I think. ^
thanks alot for the bros im gonna splurge and buy both planescape and baldurs gate 2 :)

That is an extremely solid plan.
Be aware that Baldur's Gate is much more focused to combat than Torment, which is focused in storytelling and CHOICES.
