Hello I dont know if this is the proper place to post
but my wife was ... well she is dead as of the 9th this month.
Her fav game (one of them was called RIPPER)
had christoper walken in it etc

why is it not available on gog or anywhere?
I can find it on ebay's and amazons but if its not on gog it means it probably wont work on modern os's or even dosbox

anyone know where to get this game or why its not on gog?

I'm so sorry about your wife. :(

"This guy, is un-fucking-believable!"
It's rare because FMV's tends to suck ***. I'd rather watch a movie.

Often games with songs can be problematic and possibly the name voice actors. There could be an issue with the rights, be it music or voice acting depending on the old contracts.

Sorry to hear about your wife, may she rest in peace.

The reason it's not on GOG is as RWarehall said probably due to issues with rights.

You can however buy a copy off ebay and get it to run on a modern PC. Your best options are:

a) Use Dosbox to install Windows 95, and run the game from it. There are several guides on how to do this, e.g.:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hvgFvAYjPG93h-Avun3sprvZX2GfkRhl4YJBT15FTx0/edit?pli=1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPq3_m5MGAI

b) Try set it up to run directly from modern Windows. There is an example guide here for Windows XP, which might work for Windows 7.
http://home.earthlink.net/~infernofilecabinet4/XpSetupsP_T/Ripper_Setup.htm

c) If you're willing to spend some money get an old machine with Windows 95. You can find them for about 200$ on ebay, but you might find something cheaper if you look around.
^ or a virtual pc set up with windows 95 98 or ME

the rights issue is most likley to do with the name actors whose name and face are most likley worth more then the liscence it self
Sorry to hear of your loss, Kaldire.

My condolences, Kaldire.

As far as I can tell, Take Two Interactive owns the rights to Ripper. They haven't done anything with much of their back catalog, and for whatever reason they have not signed with GOG as publisher yet.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your wife.
ty all for the reply

I appreciate the posts

as for the game, well, i love fmv games, just my thing I suppose,
only seen a few bad bad ones

as for this game, well i found it on oldgames but paid a premium to get it.
just that one game, it runs fine in dosbox,
as for ebay not many copies exist for usa, so

I know my real copy is here somewhere but to much to look through and too much grief in the head
on top of it all im sick again, sigh

oh the joy .. this world..

anyway ty I did get the iso's of the game as legally as possible on pay sites not torrents or anything
and well hope to see games like this and noctropolis come to gog.
again no clue thats another one of my favs.

but as for RIPPER, i tried to install it with its own exe it came with from the site, that has dosbox kinda like gog would, it didnt setup the thing right but ill figure it out.

anyway hope to see more fmv to gog

even noctropolis is semi fmv but mostly point n click

ty again all
this is a serious.. loss and bad time of the year to boot..
cry emote insert here
Ripper runs fine on DOSBox. It is six CD's though, and virtually changing them may become a hassle. I'm not sure, it's been ages since I got stuck in that one and never got back to it.

I'm sorry to tell you, but the oldgames site is illegal and you just paid them for no good reason.
