stonebro: You learn fractal geometry in high school now? Last time I checked fractals need the use of the complex number system and complex integration.

Anyway, fractals are awesome. They're how nature works.

In math, complex refers to the set of all complex numbers, a+b*i, where a and b are real numbers and i is the square root of -1. Complex does not necessarily mean complicated.

Of course, they can dumb down anything for high school. I have read basic number theory books that didn't go into groups and rings, which is pretty much a crime in my opinion. It all comes down to how much detail your teachers and textbooks choose to divulge.

i had only tenth grade level math in english so was not aware of the meaning of complex

yes. we did do complex numbers.
