I am stuck in this quest in warband where you have to rescue an imprisoned lord from an enemy castle.I sneaked in to the castle using this this ridiculous pilgrim disguise and managed to locate the prison.However upon speaking to the guard I get the option of bribing him but I still have to kill him to get the keys - now the problem is that I have this preposterous pole stick that hardly does any damage at all and besides he's wearing scale male armour and carries a sword which kills me in 1 or 2 strikes....is there any way around this other than lowering the difficulty setting?

sieging the castle is not possible considering that my army is in terrible shape after the last castle I conquered.....

if you have good enough staff prof, you can attack fast enough so that the guard cant hit you back and u just spam attack on him for a while before he does even if you're doing 0-1 damage, i only play on the hardest diff setting + manual block and i have no problem doing those quest ;p

Well, remember you may convince people from nearby village to set a fire - you will get rid of most guards from the castle.

Because it's not only the guard with a key you will have to fight.

And also what sir aboce me said - you have to spam attack him.

Well, I managed to get one or two strikes in and then the rest of the swadian militia came rushin' in and I tried this 8 to 10 times and then just gave up . It was only t'day that I figured that you could ask someone from a nearby village to set a fire so as to ameliorate upon the situation. I suppose I'll give it another shot once I get home....

The worst thing about this mission is that getting out of there with the prisoners still alive is even more difficult than getting in there.

Well. it's easy once you knw how to get it done...Getting the prisoner out wasn't difficult at all. Things are getting very interesting now and I only wish that I could take the day off to play this..

Sometimes, you can climb up onto a roof or hide behind a fence and pop the guards in the face with throwing daggers. And they just shout and moan and die.
