Hi, some of may know about excellent stealth game series Thief. Produced by Looking Glass and published by Eidos.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_(series)
There was:
Thief: The Dark Project, released in 1998
Thief Gold, released in 1999
Thief 2: The Metal Age, released in 2000
And Thief 3 Deadly Shadows, released in 2004
I was particularly interested in the first three. Any chance to get them? Its high rated, unique games, but in now days they have some compatibility problem. Force to disable all cpu cores except one, need some graphic wrapped cause modern videocards cut directx 6 support and few other things.
So it would be wonderful to have them here, updated for modern pc.
Sorry for my english, I'm russian :)

Yee, lol. Thx. Already voted for thief :))
Lots of folks wanting the Thief games on here, my personal favourite is the first one.
I'm hoping we'll get them on GOG before the fourth game is released.
Well, there are many problems with engine of this game. As i mentioned in first post, it needs some work. And, from what we know, eidos lost its source code, so i don't know how this game will be fixed.
BTW, Arx Fatalis patch 1.19 was made by developers for gog, or gog made it by themselves?

Timeslip's ddfix fixes several problems the Dark Engine games have on modern systems (the site seems to be down at the moment, unfortunately). A theoretical GOG fix would probably be along the same lines.

Most likely Arkane since 1.19 is also available on other digital distribution services (except for Steam for some reason).

Ye, I know about ddfix, but with all due respect, this is a crutch. I'm talking about fully fixed engine that will work ok with modern videocards, drivers, os, multicore cpu's and so on...

well, that would be unlikely to happen even if they were released on GOG.

Not really. That is exactly what GOG is intended to do; fix old games so they work on modern hardware/OSes. What is unlikely is for the game to be released on GOG at all, if it requires that much work to fix and the source isn't available.
Looks like eidos found source code for all dark engine games. But because system shock 2 (EA) was also made on dark engine they (eidos) can't submit source to public.

Think this can be good opportunity for you to start negotiations with them. Especially because system shock 2 is on first place on your wish list.

Dark Engine games, legendary games:

Thief The Dark Project
Thief Gold
System Shock 2
Thief II The Metal Age

God, i'll buy them on any price you'll post for them here.
