I'd buy it if it included the Original or the VGA remake because I've never played any LSL games. Not massively interested in an HD remake, especially since I want to experience the game as intended.

Darling_Jimmy: I really like the Monkey Island remakes. LucasArts got it right, IMO.
I have a couple of problems with the first remake but nothing big. The second however... THEY COMPLETELY SCREWED UP iMUSE! ;o; Also removed the intro sequence with the great arrangement of the MI theme.

bazilisek: I've only seen some videos of it and I really hated the lack of animation frames. Combined with the redrawn graphics, the movement of all characters was so strangely floaty. I will always prefer the "pixelart" of the original.
I agree completely. I own the remake of the first game and the 2 or 3 frame walking animations look fine at 320x200. At 1280x720 though, it just looks like they're sliding along while changing shape. Doesn't look like walking at all.

This is a great information. The game is basically just a remake, no 3D crap. Al Lowe himself is working on it so we can be sure the final product will be worth playing. I can't wait!
Larry 1 (remake), 5, 6 and 7 still play great and have aged pretty well IMO.

But remakes of Larry 2 and 3 (and specially 4 and 8 :P) are very much welcomed!

Darling_Jimmy: The decision to include the original games just a keystroke away is actually my favourite feature and maybe even the only reason I was able to let myself appreciate the updated content.
I wish they'd given us individual 'graphics' and 'sound' switches because I certainly appreciated the voice acting.

Got the MI remake on sale from Telltale, but unfortunately it's not playable on both computers (Desktop don't support SSE2 and notebook with IGP is too slow). Personally I'm fine with the old graphics and also enjoyed the Telltale games, but the graphics from the remake look also different. What I really like is talkie version of Monkey Island, so I really look forward to this Secret of Monkey Island Talkie project. It combines the voicefiles from the remake with the graphics of the original running with a tweaked version of scummvm.

Yes, I heard about that as well! I stopped playing the remake when I got to the grog mug bit of the game and found it needlessly annoying to do. I'll just play the 'talkie version' that they're coming up with.
