So I take it that nobody has actually reached 5 stars yet?

Miaghstir: When is "soon enough"?

Navagon: He probably has to first learn how rep now works. I don't think even the staff have completely figured it out yet. So it might take a while.
This.
and yes, no one has reached five stars, yet...
Regardless of how it works one thing is for sure, nega rep should be capped, even more so because the new upvote/downvote system seems to be pretty much open to abuse now .

And resetting the rep of the users who are currently beyond whatever the cap would be set at is probably a good idea too, i really don't like to see users with -500 rep and whatnot, it's bullshit.

Agree, neg rep shouldn't go too low. Last time I saw GameRager he had something like -666. It looks rather strange.
Not to mention that users with such high negative rep appear to be bugged in some manner. Some users are reporting that high rating their posts is in fact increasing their negative rep. While others report the opposite. Either way there is definitely something wrong with the rep system when it gets to those numbers.

The old system was pretty crap in that it was nigh on impossible to get negative rep. But it was a hell of a lot more exploit resistant than it now is.

If they just made it so that it took at least two people voting on a post before it had any affect at all it would make a lot of difference.
I agree you guys, the upvote/downvote seems to be completely broken and open to abuse.

The problem is, since we don't know how it's supposed to work there's no way to know if we have a bugged rep system or a poorly conceived rep system working as intended.

What bansama mentioned looks like a sure bug though, no way that's intended behaviour.
