It just wasn't faire!

The Guild: Renaissance Bundle (that is The Guild Gold Edition + The Guild 2 + The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas + The Guild 2: Renaissance), an extensive collection of fun and complex medieval European dynasty sims, including a title released today, is available bundled 75% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.96 for the set of three for the next 48 hours!

In the 14th Century the world order is beginning to transform itself. Due to trade and commerce an increasing middle class obtains more and more power and wealth. Entire towns purchase their freedom and more privileges from the nobility. Reading and writing is no longer the domain of the nobility and the clergy and the invention of printing information may eventually be spread everywhere. This is the beginning of the Renaissance...

The Guild: Renaissance Bundle brings a new title to GOG.com. The Guild 2: Renaissance, with eight completely new professions: mercenary, grave digger, stonemason, juggler, innkeeper, banker, miller and the fruit grower. It comes with new goods, buildings, ambient details and effects, all new scenarios ("Transylvania", "The Rhineland" and "The Alps"), bigger world maps, improved AI, title and nobility system as well as new options. For centuries Europe has been dominated by the church and nobility. On the shoulders of ordinary people the servants of god and the noble families justified their power and wealth. This was the incontrovertible, divine world order. A truly dark era--now yours to explore!

For the next 48 hours you can transport yourself into the European middle ages and start your very own dynasty of moneygrabbing powermongers with The Guild Renaissance Bundle, for only $9.96. The games are also available separately, 50% off. Titles already owned count towards the bundle completion and the higher discount rate. The offer lasts until Thursday, July 3, at 9:59AM GMT.
If the game isn't on version 4.17b, you can download it from the devs

It's pretty mandatory to get, really. It even transforms your Steam version (if you have it) to a DRM-free version, which is a bit weird. Just don't launch it from steam afterwards, as steam will "patch" it to 4.15.
THANK YOU! I've been waiting for this to come to GOG for so long.

It new patch is still under beta tag, should I wait for Gog to officially implement it (will they?) at some later date or is it pointless to wait? Also does Gog implement new patches for every single game sold here or is some require manual downloading and patching?

Thanks for the help

If you look on your game shelf for a given game, you'll see the main game installer and if there are patches available as well they will show up underneath that. GOG sometimes will integrate patches into the main game installer so you get the latest patch as soon as you install. Sometimes a separate patch will exist for download still for people who previously downloaded an older version of the installer so that they don't need to re-download the full installer.

It varies from game to game and also over time.

When GOG Galaxy is available at the end of August, hopefully it uses a delta patching mechanism both in the client, and generates deltas against prior releases which are available for download via the web pages also, so people can install the latest, or patch from any version to any version manually if desired. That'd be nice to have.
This is yet another great classic release. It is definitely the best of the Guild 2 releases.
Keep 'em coming!
Too Late Once Again GOG
This game has been available drm free for years on gamers gate if memory serves me correctly.
It's not a bad set of games certainly the trading & manufacture of goods is much better than patrician IV: Conquest by FIRE, but there seems to be no real economy to any of them.
You buy a big expensive business churn out 50 high price goods sell 10 of them and get under the inflation of the goods required to produce the other 40; i was finding the only real way of producing money in G2 as a moneylender was to go full on mayor route.
The whole series needs a complete reboot with more thought given to it's core gameplay functions :
-Family (reason to give a rats about family as anything but cheap labour & succession)
-Business (more intrinsic supply chains, effect on economy/area)
-Trade (not so half arsed in respect to there being inherent demands to simulate a natural non metric expansion)

I never buy from gamer's gate, years ago when I last looked too many had DRM so I never looked again. Plus I have patience and a huge back catalog to keep me busy.

Go on buy it again on GOG (it's cheap), you know you want to.
In case there are any of you out there sitting on the fence about whether to buy this amazing bundle or not, I thought I'd remind you of what GOG's self-appointed leading expert for The Guild had to say about the series. I hereby present my short summary of The Joe's thoughts on The Guild.
Venice is the only piece now missing on GOG, unless I overlooked something...

Holy crap what happened to Barry?
I believe he was buried in time.

Whelp, we needa go Gage Blackwood and Jumpsuit him back here.
We may very well need to do that, but keep in mind that Barry deletes many of his own posts, leaving only trace evidence of his presence in the form of a mysterious empty post with his persona attached - as any good Annex agent would, of course.
