A whole new ball game!

The Ball, a first person perspective puzzle/exploration game that combines Unreal with Arkanoid, is now available on GOG.com 10% off for limited time. The incredibly low price of $8.99 will last until Tuesday, August 14 at 09:00 AM GMT.

What is the Ball? The mysterious artifact uncovered in ancient ruins holds many secrets. Is it a repository of knowledge? A round treasure chest filled with gold and diamonds? A vessel of some mystical power? Whatever it is, it rolls like a dream. And when it gathers momentum, nothing can stand in its way. So, whether it is the hard drive of the gods or the ultimate doomsday device, you’re going to use it as your bowling ball and hurl it against the monstrous denizens that stand between you and your escape from the underworld.

The Ball sports beautiful Unreal™ Engine 3 graphics and delivers both physics-based puzzles and gory, monster-crushing action. You will explore eight huge levels of an ancient underground city and fend off furious foes in four survival arenas. But first, you’ll need to master the Ball itself and learn how to control its movement.

The Ball, with all of its power and its many secrets, can be yours for only $8.99 for the next 7 days.

Consider for a moment that a discussion about allowing community mods devolved into a flamewar about Mother Teresa...

Ha ha, I was just trying to show that some people do put people ahead of money. But maybe it has become a flamewar. :-P

Flamewar? I see that you're Canadian and thus polite to a fault*, but it's a bit extreme to describe their back-and-forth as a flamewar. That's the kind of overzealous attitude towards moderation that could ruin this forum.

*a friendly joke, and besides that Canada is forgiven all faults in exchange for Rush. :-P

tfishell: NO painkillers. Yes, it's quite unfortunate that she chose not to use those.

anjohl: The good she can be argued to have done could have been done a thousandfold times better by another organization, or by hers, if she could have removed the religious colonization aspect.

tfishell: Absolutely, because far more people would be involved, and more opinions and concerns would be brought to the table. But afaik other people/organizations were not involved, so she went ahead and did what she felt was right, and I think we can agree some of what she did was good.

(And again, wasn't the initial disagreement about always putting money ahead of people? I'm not going to say I "won", but I think I and various other people have shown that a variety of people do good for others without concern for money.

As for "winning", is that really what you wanted? To win an argument online? Okay then, if it genuinely makes you feel better, you "win", but if that's the most important thing in this discussion, you may want to take a look at what you really consider important. :-/
I don't need to win, I just need to ensure that Agnes' carefully crafted and maintained facade is constantly challenged. Why doesn't anyone talk about Bill Gates in the same reverential tones? Why did you offer Agnes before offering Mandela? Why did she spring to your mind first?

Good branding, that's why.

So, does Rush cancel out Bryan Adams and Celine Dion, or do we need to call in BTO for backup?

Haha, yeah a "spirited debate" would probably be more accurate. It seemed like an insanely random derail, but maybe that's just how you roll, here on the GoG forums.

Better call in The Guess Who and Gordon Lightfoot too since we also have to apologise for Justin Bieber!

Shit, is he Canadian? Really? Ok, I see your Lightfoot/Guess Who, and raise you Prism, 3 Inches of Blood, and Voivod. That should do it.
