You'll never feel safe again.

Shattered Haven, a survival horror puzzle game in which you must learn to use the environment to your advantage, is available 25% off. That's only $7.49 for the game's first week on GOG.com

In just about nine years the face of the world changed. We watched in horror as the strange plague turned everything that was good an colorful into sickly gray menace that pushes forward to destroy all life. But some of the survivors adapted. We learned how to fight the beasts. There might not ever be any hope to turn the tide of destruction, but there is a slim chance of survival. At least for some of us. This is the story of a broken world and the constant struggle for survival.

In Shattered Haven your chance of survival look very slim. The blood-thirsty restless beasts have you cornered in every stage and there's not much you can do short of using everything around you as a weapon. You'll need to master the art of guerrilla war against the Grays and hope for the best in these grim times for human civilization. The game supports local multiplayer, so make sure a friend always has your back. When you run out of the many stages supported by the developers, you can always use the provided level editor, and cook up some survival horror of your own.

Use your wits and planning to escape the gray monsters of doom in Shattered Haven, for only $7.49 on GOG.com. The promo lasts until Monday, March 25, at 1:59PM GMT.
Cool. I never heard of this before. Does this appeal to fans of games like Dwarven Fortress? I don't know much of the game, it just kind of reminded me of the way characters navigate in Dwarven Fortress, is all.
At least the game is cheaper here than on Steam, thanks to Steam's 1US Dollar=1 Euro policy
I'm starting to notice that some of the later levels start to take advantage of the fact that some of the gray types that seek you out have different path-finding behaviors.

I just finished a rather interesting level that was rather difficult partly because while most of the grays in the level could path-find around obstacles, some of the grays did more damage but couldn't path-find around obstacles.
I don't want to spoil too much, but the way the level was laid out meant you had to be very careful of the ones that were stronger but couldn't path-find around obstacles because you couldn't lead them around the level the same way as the other grays.

Not really, it's not in the same genre.

I guess it would be a top-down action adventure game, but that doesn't really say much.

It's mostly a combat and puzzle game, but most of the "puzzles" aren't the usual kind of switch and combination kind of puzzles, although the game has its fair share of those.
Most of the time the puzzles are combat and combat turns into a puzzle due to the way the weapons and enemies work.

You start out mostly getting enemies to follow you into traps and/or trying to dodge past them to collect the weapons and tools you need to kill them, then later on the levels start having more varied obstacles, more complicated layouts, and different gray types which makes the levels become more involved and more difficult.

On a related note, more videos for those who want them. Beware if you don't want spoilers of course.

This is the same "Parking Garage" level I posted a video of earlier, but this time I went for a "gold" rating. That means that this time I wasn't allowed to use the shovel (no filling in bomb holes), and I wasn't allowed to use spears, so the level plays out a bit differently than before:

Here's the whip grappling level I mentioned earlier. There are no grays here as this is more of a pure puzzle level:

Here's a level I found really difficult and left in all my deaths. I figured I should post at least one where I really struggle.
Enjoy watching me suffer on this one! XD :
