Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, and Mysteries of Westgate expansions included!

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, the ultimate edition of Obsidian's RPG set in the all time favorite Dungeons & Dragons setting, the Forgotten Realms, is now available 25% off on GOG.com. That's $14.99, this week only.

Ah, Forgotten Realms, after all the days we've spent treading your paths, you seem like home. Whenever the world around us seems oppressive and dark, whenever life gets us down--our mind escapes to your green fields, your rocky mountains, your lush forests. We cherish the memories of our bold ventures into your deep undergrounds, filled with dangerous beasts and traps, yet luring us with promise of great riches and unsurpassed power. We still tremble at the thought of the vengeful gods and goddesses that toy with the fates of your inhabitants, and the perplexing magic that fills you to the brim. We fondly remember the long evenings spent in the warmth and security of your many taverns and inns, where a single conversation could usher us into a new quest. Now comes the time to visit you once more.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete revisits many of the iconic locations known from previous D&D computer RPGs, and adds even more--all in a beautifully rendered environment. The game has been praised for faithfully executing the D&D 3.5 ruleset, delivering a captivating story and vivid characters, and vastly improving the visuals in comparison to its predecessor. With four full campaigns and adventure sets to embark upon, a set of tools to create your own adventures, and fully patched and ready to go, this is the version you just can't afford to miss!

Can you hear it now? Can you hear the rattling of D20 dice rolling? That's the sound of adventure! Tag along, get Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete, for only $14.99 until Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT.
Cool, wishlisted. Am willing to pay 10$ for it somewhen this year.

towerbooks3192: Was keeping an eye on this for quite a while now. I got NWN1 and even with that I can't seem to really get into it. Is it easier to get into this one? I really want to enjoy these type of games but I am not sure if I would get into this. Need advice if I should get this or not
I say get it, NWN1 (the original campaign) was pretty unimmersive and bland in my opinion, and NWN2 is better in both respects. And Mask of the Betrayer is notoriously excellent with a story and setting design that by far surpassed the original game and made its way into many gamers' RPG toplists. The expansion is worth playing by itself.

And if you played and enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins, I'd say you'll also enjoy NWN2, since it's pretty similar to that game.
... and there was much rejoicing!!!
I bought the CE edition on release and had nothing but trouble with it. Missing NPCs and cut-scenes not triggering properly, ugh. Awful game.

Obsidian. Never buy their game on release. It's pretty bug-free, stable and working now. Well... Most of the time anyway.

It's funny how much patches/expansions and that stuff can change a game

RAGE right now is a different game than it was on release date

New Vegas right now is a different game than it was on release date

Might and Magic Heroes VI right now is a different game than it was on release date

I guess right now we live in a gaming world where games can change a lot over time

I'm not even talking about MMO's here...

The trouble is, of course, that gaming journalists are inevitably the first ones to play the (unpatched) game upon which they base their opinion which can affect the opinions of people who play the game after it has been properly patched.

Qwertyman: Which leads me back to the question I asked earlier but nobody answered yet - Are Storm of Zehir and Mysteries of Westgate worth 15 dollars? I already have the base game and Mask DRM free, and 15 is a lot to spend if those expansions really aren't worth it.
Do you prefer a strong narrative or are you ok with a hack&slashy sort-of sandbox, because that is Storm of Zehir in a nutshell. Light on the narrative, with a lot of fighting and you exploring the world map while building your own trading network. I liked it ok, but because it's so vastly different from the OC and MOTB, it's not gonna please everyone.

Mysteries of Westgate is a good, but relatively short city adventure with a setup similar to MOTB, i.e. you've been cursed and need to expose the mystery behind your predicament. It has some good atmosphere and the companions are ok, too. As this is essentially a fan production, voice acting is somewhat sparse but ok, as well. This campaign resembles the more conventional CRPG campaigns a lot. It's mostly linear but it has some good C&C for you and I had fun with it.

$15 just for those two...hm. I paid as much back when I first bough MoW as DLC. I'd say go for it if anything I said about those two campaigns sounds good to you. :)
What a great release. Well done!

Mysteries of Westgate isn't an expansion, it is a module. It has a good story, the companions are likable, and there is some replayability.

Storm of Zehir, however, is a real expansion. The campaign is pretty much a throwback to oldschool RPGs. There is a story, but it takes a backseat, as you are out adventuring in the wilds, killing monster and exploring dungeons. The dungeons themselves are mostly relatively small, but some of the fights can be pretty tough. You can create your whole party yourself. There are also some henchmen you can recruit, but they are not as well developed as the companions in the OC and MotB. You also need to find them first.
The real meat, however, comes from the new features in SoZ, like the Overland Map, the ability to make your own party, and more. Most of the new player-made modules require them. Some very high class modules have come out in the last years, and they will provide enough entertainment for years. Among them is even a very good remake of Icewind Dale 1, and a remake of Baldur's Gate 1 is still in the works.

All in all, MoW and SoZ are definitely worth 15$.

It didn't make a difference with Skyrim on the PS3.

Fouinto: English only : not for me !

Lost-brain: Patch can be found for turn the game on other languages. For the french version, try the Patch-Fr website.
For NWN1, I have "Crytical Rebuild (French)" but these don't exist with NWN2.
where are those FR patch that can be applied after an already fully patched game ?

RS1978: Damn, only English... Steam version was multilingual :(

Will these work with an already fully patched game ? I don't think so !

It was a misunderstanding. The linked patches are for the various language versions from the game, they don't include any translation packs.
I really enjoyed the EXPANDED NWN1 but NWN2 just never clicked with me and I though MotB had one of the most annoying gameplay mechanics ever invented. Gave up on it maybe a third of the way in and never looked at NWN2 again afterwards. Neither NWN is a patch on the old isometric games. Even Icewind Dale 2 is better than either, IMO.
